With Marvel animation rocking at TV shows and animated features, i was thinking it's about time they should do an animated feature for DVD based on Steve Gerber's Marvel character. It would be a complete reboot of the 1986 Lucas camp-and-cheese fest which i DO like and is my guilty pleasure movie, but i want this to be more true to the comics as possible even with a PG-13 rating. It would be called "Howard: A New Species of Hero" with Andy Dick as the voice of Howard, Katie Sourcie as Beverly Switzler and Michael Ironside as Captain Turnip. It would even include some of the satire that made the comics so popular and unique even the humor, this would rock.I'm gonna write a letter to Marvel Animation for this idea animated movie and could throw some cameos by Logan, Tony Stark and Nick Fury.

I just watched the "Special Edition" DVD (Insert "Dark Overlord shoots first" joke) a couple days ago, and it was as enjoyable as I remember. They were really hyping it up to be the next big thing, but since it didn't live up to the hype it was considered a "flop." They should have kept Howard's antiestablishment attitude, but at least Lea Thompson was looking cute.

I wouldn't mind a new animated feature, but your idea disintegrates right about here:
Andy Dick as the voice of Howard
:csad:

reboot not necessary. the best movie George Lucas ever made.

As long as they do Peter Porker: Spider-Ham, I'm game. Maybe a DVD double feature....

I'm pretty sure Marvel only does things that have a slightest chance to make money...

Two things I don't agree with.

1) The word "reboot".
2) Andy Dick

Keep that bad ass Cherry Bomb theme

Well ok ok, no Andy Dick but how about David Borenez or David Spade for Howard's voice? and ok, not a complete reboot but a different film but as a full length PG-13 rated mature animated movie just like Marvel's other animated movies and even DC's animated features.

Has anyone even read the comics? great stuff. I loved the 1986 cult movie since i was a kid and got it on DVD the other day, a great guilty pleasure of mine and it's not so bad anymore compared to the crappy parody movies these days like "Epic Movie", "Disaster Movie", "Meet The Spartans" and "Date Movie" which are ten times worse.

I don't think Boreanez would be right for Howard, and Spade's only slightly better than Dick. Neither should be encouraged in any way.

Well ok, fair enough. But who would you have to be the voice for Howard? maybe Jim Cummings, who is one of the great voice actors.

For this new movie, there can be a cameo by Logan (a.k.a. Wolverine) in a bus-station waiting for his bus as Howard who is waiting for his bus says "Boy and i thought Humans couldn't be ever more fuzzier on their face", then Logan looks at him saying "Well at least i don't have feathers and a bill like you". Tony Stark could have an appearence doing a press meeting in Cleveland as Howard and Beverly walk through and of course Nick Fury having a cup of coffee at a cafe as he talks with one of his agents about the Avengers.

If this ideal movie of mine is successful, then maybe Howard could guest star in a possible "Ultimate Avengers III".

I have no problem with the word reboot, but Andy @#$%ing Dick as the voice of Howard?! Come on! I'll tell ya who should do the voice of Howard The Duck....
