Well this sparks allot of Bendis feels for me :(

Hey guys, which Now! titles would you recommend? So far I've only got All-New X-Men, Uncanny Avengers, FF, Red She-Hulk and X-Men Legacy. I'm thinking of getting Indestructible Hulk, Thor: God of Thunder and, maybe, Journey Into Mystery. I've never really been that interested in those characters before, but I've heard they're really good.

I would recommend Avengers, Indestructible Hulk, Captain America, Thor: God of Thunder, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four.

I'd agree with those suggestions. Do you like the Avengers characters? Maybe try the Avengers Assemble book. Nova starts in February, and the new Guardians of the Galaxy starts in March if you like some Marvel cosmic. Anything particular you're looking for or certain Marvel characters/teams you like?

I was just thinking of branching out since I mostly only read X-Men books. I'm not really that big on Avengers. I forgot to mention that I got Hickman's #1, but I'm not going to continue with it. :yay:

I will say that I'm not going to get Nova, since it's not Richard Ryder. :cmad:

I got Avengers. I forgot to mention it. Didn't really grab me and I don't like Captain America or Deadpool that much. I'm going to give the others a try. :yay:

I hear you on the new Nova. I'd recommend at least trying Thor, Indestructible Hulk, FF, and Journey Into Mystery though. If you don't like them, you can say that you tried them at least. Oh, and maybe Scarlet Spider, as that's pretty different from the normal Spidey book. Are you going to try the new Uncanny X-Force when it's out?

I'm definately getting UXF. It's the one I'm most excited about.

I refuse to get anything Spider-Man related. It's against my principles. Unless it's Black Cat. :woot:

Huh? The Nova title is not Ryder?? But Starlord is back! ah what is Marvel doing... imo those two characters and Thanos should have just remained dead.

I miss Richie. I too will avoid this newbie until Nova Prime returns.

Marvel should have gone the route of using Richard's brother. At least then they could have worked in him trying to live up to his brother's legacy.

Also did they ever explain how Starlord got back?

I honestly can't criticize Loeb for the use of Sam Alexander, I feel more sad for the guy than annoyed on this issue.

Idk where this kid came from. He turns up in Spidey's cartoon and now he's got his own comic.

Jeph Loeb created the character. The name Sam Alexander comes from Sam Loeb, his son who died in 2005. Note that Sam Alexander has a lot of striking similarities to Loeb's son and looks around 16/17, Loeb's son died when he was 17.

Loeb has pretty much shown that he has not moved on from his son's death. Not that you can blame the guy, it's his own child who had a lot of writing talent being taken away from the world far, far too early. And if you notice Loeb's quality in writing, it took a massive hit in quality right around the time it became obvious that Sam wasn't going to make it, which was pretty much around the Superman/Batman arc Supergirl from Krypton.

Like I said, it's more sad than anything. It's why I can't get annoyed that Richard Rider isn't Nova.

Well that changes things, it is really sad. I no longer want Sam to die, just to go away.

Here's my thinking on it. Yes, I'd love to have Richard Rider back, and I honestly can't see the title going in any other direction than an eventual rescue of the original Nova.

However, if it's true that Sam Alexander is based on Loeb's departed son, don't you think that Loeb is going to write the everlovin' blue-eyed THING out of that book and make it the best title he can possibly make it? He'd write the character to honor his son, and I have a feeling he's going to write one heck of a story!

I'm skipping out on Guardians but I'm definately giving Nova a shot. For all his hit or misses, I have a feeling that Nova's going to be one of Loeb's hits.

I don't because Loeb hasn't been able to put out anything good since his son's death.

Hey, you're also buying Avengers Arena you scoundrel.

I just read on the Marvel NOW! wikipedia page that the Hawkeye series will be joining Marvel NOW! with issue #6. I have searched the internet but have found almost nothing to support this claim. Has anyone else heard anything?

I'm gonna give Nova a chance. I don't think Loeb is good anymore, but maybe he'll pull something great out of his hat for this.

I really enjoyed the Fallen Son mini series. Important note regarding this conversation: That was also inspired by the loss of his son. I'm hoping he repeats that quality with this.

To be fair... I'm testing Aveners Arena due to my love of Darkhawk. And I'm keeping it on a very short leash... especially after this first issue. It sorta ticked me off.

I wonder if Cornell's back to Marvel because DC finally realized what a load of **** he was putting out there. :hehe:
