Marvel Now - Part 3

All of their articles read like that. But they're nearly always right.

This one feels especially stupid, though. The format that they're claiming to have a scoop on is how Cosmic Marvel has been published since it started. It's always been mini-series and ongoing series tying into a new event mini-series.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're right, but it's not exactly news worthy.

Im confused. isnt there going to be a crossover starring Ultron as the main villian? Theres going to be a seperate one with Thanos as well? Yeah I definetly cant keep up

Man... do I really want to get into another genre that's going to go crossover heavy? I have zero interest in the Thanos mini. I'm only mildly interested in the Guardians. Nova has my interest but if it's going to lead to crap that'll require multiple comics to get the story then I'd rather not even bother.

And with Guardians being an upcoming movie you KNOW Marvel is going to go through every hoop to make that the big cosmic book and link as many other things as they can to it, like New Avengers was for years. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if I weren't already at my limit at Comics spending and well over where I'd prefer to be. I'm already budgeting for Nova, and Guardians tentatively, but I don't know... I guess I'll just take it a month at a time and see what I think.

After looking through my buy list I've decided that I need to cut (or not start buying) about 5 or 6 titles, maybe more. Indestructible Hulk, X-Men Legacy, and Cable & X-Force were semi-easy cuts to make. I don't like the upcoming artist on Hulk and the X-Books just haven't been as good as I thought they were going to be. Justice League of America is also an easy cut since I was really only interested in it for Martian Manhunter and David Finch. Now it's getting hard.

Thor is likely the next to get cut. It's been a great story with great art but I just don't really care about Thor, so I won't really miss the title.

I'm debating on just skipping out on Nova and Guardians but I'm really curious about the new cosmic direction. I'm just not sure if I want to bother with a whole "new" genre. Despite the cosmic Marvel being my favorite genre when DnA were in charge, I'm detatched now and question if it's even worth starting over.

I'm also wanting to drop Batman Incorporated but I've stuck with Morrison's run this long, I feel obligated to finish the last 5 or 6 issues... despite the fact that it's my least favorite title. I'm actually rereading his run now to decide if it's even worth spending the $15-$20 to finish it. I loved it through Batman & Robin. Incorporated was when it started losing me. I'm undecided.

X-Men, Young Avengers, Phantom Stranger, Green Arrow (when Lemire starts), and Batman & Robin are also on the potential cut list.

What to do, what to do?

How is the new iron man stories? Thinking of picking it up
They're average at best....Gillen is good....but my word.....LAND, just killed the book for me and because of that I dropped it after the opening arc. I gave it the benefit of that to await news of a new artist and....nothing

Cool. Another Marvel crossover to skip.

Cool. Another BleedingCool article to skip :cwink:

So....I told myself I'd pick a buy and comic series monthly as part of my New Years Resolution(that series I decided was Superior Spider-Man)...and buy two trades of each of my favorite top 10 superheroes/franchises as I told myself I needed to read more comics than last year...but instead of trades I picked up the first issues of Savage Wolverine, Thor: God of Thunder, and New Avengers today....I haven't read them yet but I'm slowly thinking to hungrily go after and try everything in the Marvel Now! line!! Well, not everything...but all these first issues are providing me with a chance to jump in and start reading. I'm assuming that was Marvel's goal but a part of me is glad to be buying comics again.

Now I wish I started back when the New 52 began! :p

I didn't really care for Savage Wolverine that much. Thor and New Avengers are the shizzle though.

I dunno why but I was determined to pick up Savage Wolverine this week above all else. Maybe it just reminds me of Turok..which I enjoy...and dinosaurs...

I picked up the other two because of how great everyone claims it to be, I'm excited! Now I need to get a X-title as well...

All New X-Men has been good and is my recommendation, though it's 6 issues in. Uncanny X-Force starts this Wednesday so that might be good for you. Uncanny X-Men and adjectiveless X-Men (all X-Women) are both upcoming X-books. Wolverine & the X-Men is decent, though it's in it's 20s now. It's not hard to jump into though.

I'd recommend skipping Cable & X-Force and X-Men Legacy. Neither are that good.

I had no interest in Wolverine Savage and it seems I didn't miss much. Money saved! :D

I'm really wondering whether or not to get Uncanny X-Men as a companion book to All-New X-Men. You'd imagine they work together with Bendis on both and Cyclops being so prevalent in both, but I've seen a lot of skepticism over it.

Yeah I was thinking of going for All New X-Men I'm confident I can find the first issue and catch up since I found the first issue of Thor easily. I might go for trades with Wolverine & the X-Men. I wait for the verdict on X-Force and the new Uncanny. I usually cant get comics on Wednesdays anyways as there are no comics in the vicinity of my college. But on weekends I can.

The new all women X-Men title looks like it might be awesome. For me, X-Men and Spider-Man are usually my favorite areas of the Marvel universe. (Although I plan on checking out the new GotG it looks interesting)

It sounds like they're meant to be companion books, more or less how Hickman's Avengers and New Avengers are supposed to work off each other. Personally I'm very excited for the new Uncanny X-Men even though I think all the redesigns are atrocious.

Its pretty much a given. ANX has been used to set up UXM. Both will offer two sides to the same coin and it'll be interesting to see things from a different, non-biased perspective

I'm excited for Uncanny, though I'm a little apprehensive about the art and the fact that I thought Emma was written horribly the last time Bendis wrote her.

When would that have been? AvX? Then she wouldn't have been only one. But Bendis has been bringing his A game in All-New so I'm much more welcoming this time around.

In All New X-men #3 we see how Cyclops, Magneto, Magik, and Emma are fairing post AvX and Consequences. The way Bendis wrote Emma is my only criticism of ANXM so far.

Feels like we've been waiting forever for "Avengers #3". Isn't this supposed to be a bimonthly book?
