Marvel should secure Megan Fox for a role

The examples I've listed fail on both platforms. And most of the Trekkies I know loved the last movie.

To be fair Batman and Robin became a casualty of the times. When Batman Returns comes out it was so dark that parent groups protested and the movie lost a liscensing deal with either McDonald's or Burger King(I can remember). Joel was brought in to lighten the movies up(even though he really wanted to do The Dark Knight Returns). So when Batman Forever comes out it has the Joel's lightness but Burton was still executive producing and his darkness leavened the movie.

By this time the Batman movies were so big that Hollywood actors were lining up to play Bat villains. Also WB was making more money on the merchandizing side than on actual tickets. Between fast food tie ins and action figures there was real money to be made. Its at this time that the marketing side of WB took over the Batman franchise and it shows. Robin's costume was changed to sell action figures(No one is going to buy a new version of an old costume), New Batmobile and Red Bird(again to sell toys), new characters in Mr Freeze, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Bane...each with their own action figure vehicle....then towards the end the heroes change into their ice uniforms. Without Burton to temper Joel the movie became more light than anything to the point it began to resemble the 60's tv show...down to the wierd camera angles.

Yes I hate this movie just as much as everyone else but I dont think it was because anyone had contempt for the fans. It just came at a time when Hollywood was more concerned with money than quality

It's not about contempt for the fans. But that movie was truly a slap in the face to everyone concerned, neophyte or longtime devotee.
And you're right. That movie was a 2-hour toy commercial. But can't the same be argued of a movie that is SPUN OFF OF A TOY LINE?

I guess but thats the nature making a movie based on a toy line or anything based on pre existing property....could Prince of Persia be considered a 2 hour commercial for the video game series. I think what makes Transformers different from Batman and Robin is that characters and different modes were introduced just to sell toys. Optimus didnt turn into his woodland truck mode just so Hasbro could sell Woodland Truck Mode Optimus Prime action figures

I don't think it helps her credibility as an actress that she was replaced by an underwear model in Transformers 3.

At least they were smart enough not to hire Britney Spears. She's been begging to appear in blockbuster films for years.

..hmm.. wonder what her next role will be.. even a cameo..

Megan Fox would make an excellent Lola Palooza in a live action Cherry Poptart movie. But Cherry Comics are their own brand and have nothing to do with Marvel. Also it would require her to be filmed fully naked and have lots of simulated Hollywood sex on film. Unless it's produced by Electric Playground or Vivid Video, in which case she would be having lots of actual sex on film.

Awful, awful actress...

Screwed now that she ain't in TF3. She should stick to lingerie modelling or something.

No.
She's hot, but:
1. She can't act.
2. She appears to be really difficult to work with (Both because of her little tiff with Michael Bay, and because in pretty much every interview with her that I've read, she comes across as a really rude, nasty, and self- absorbed person).
When her looks fade, so will her career.

I think people are too hard on her. She was good in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. She's not horrible, and I think she's unfairly scapegoated for a lot of what was wrong with Transformers (specifically Revenge of the Fallen). I don't think she did a bad job in that movie, in fact I was fine with her performance (it was the damn Twins, and the other two stupid humans who bothered me). In response to the thread topic, Marvel shouldn't "secure" her a role. She's fine onscreen, but she's not someone I have to have playing a particular character. She could be a pretty decent Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew. I ultimately think her drawback is either she's seeking or getting cast in roles purely based on her looks. I think if Marvel casts her in anything it ought to be a role that challenges her to play an actual person rather than just be eye candy.

She's not an A-lister anymore. Her new movie PASSION PLAY is being released direct to video.

She's proven to not be a draw either.

Right now in Hollywood, there is almost a surplus of attractive, young actresses who can also act; actresses like Amanda Heard, Emily Blunt, Amanda Seyfried, Emma Stone, as well as established actresses like Scarlette Johanssen and Natalie Portman who are all compete against each other for those 20-something roles. That's why it is hard for someone like Megan Fox, who relies on her looks and not her acting skills, to find a decent role in Hollywood. There are more than enough actresses to be considered for Marvel superhero movies out there without mentioning Fox's name.

Agreed!! Look at what she did in Jonah Hex.......TERRIBLE!
ugh, i wanted to strangle her during that terribad movie. i agree with my fellow posters her career is DONE. and the worlds a better place because of it. lol
