-Feel free to ignore everything on this list except one item that makes it all irrelevant:

CASANOVA: AVARITIA #1 (of 4)

EDIT: I just noticed the price on it...I really hope that's just for the first issue. Otherwise, I may just wait for the trade

-The 'First Year' of DeadpoolMAX is over, implying a second year, perhaps? Let's hope. I'd trade every Spider-Man, Thor, X-Men and Avengers book on there for a continuation of that book, and so would you, even if you don't know it yet.

-I guess Scarlet is going on hiatus. Not surprising considering how Maleev started on Moon Knight, I guess, but disappointing. The last issue left me wanting a lot more.

-Is that Steve Rogers vs a monster truck on the cover of Ellis' first Secret Avengers cover? Awesome. I may pick it up since it's all done in one.

So can we all agree that Mark Waid's Daredevil is going to be the best Marvel title out this year?

Good God, not much on that list seems appealing. I'm interested in DD, ASM, Avengers Academy, T-Bolts and the Max books.

I think DD does have a legit shot at being the best book of the 2nd half of 2011. I'll go as far as to say that if everything falls into place for the book (keeping the art team on track) it could be on FIRE by 2012.

For the first time ever, I may abandon the Avengers line like I did ASM years ago during the Clone Saga. I'm sick to death of Bendis (I'm going to avoid a rant about Bendis nullifying everything Jim McCann has done) and Secret Avengers does not seem appealing at all. I'll stick out Academy because of it's greatness but it's not going to be around forever with it's sales. Once that's gone, so will I.

I'm with Codename Sailor Tron, I'm dying for year 2 of DeadpoolMAX. Best limited series on a loooooong while.

The solicit for Punisher MAX does spoil the ending to "Frank" somewhat but then again what's a hero in prison story without a riot at the end? I love direction the book is headed. The cover rocks too.....

As for the slew of mini's/tie-ins, I've got 2 in my sights. One is the Uncanny X-Force Fear mini and the other is the Spider-Woman: Spider Island one-shot. If Camuncoli is drawing it, I'm sold.

I'm not at all interested in any of these events. Fear Itself, Spider-Island, Schism....blah. I'm only interested in the creative team books like DD, Thor, Moon Knight, Punisher, Captain America, maybe Cap and Bucky and FF too. The books that operate on their own pretty much. New Avengers has me very tempted, i'm getting sick of bendis but dammit i love me some Daredevil and i love me some Deodato...sigh.

Yep.
VENOM007_cov.jpg
And that Vengeance of Venom TPB is sexy hot. It almost makes all the other Venom TPBs I own obsolete.

No mention of Loki in Journey into Mystery, but I'll take Mephisto instead.

Well, damn. Hulk vs. Dracula actually sounds kind of interesting.

Haha, Colossus is the Juggernaut, b****! I almost want to read that, but Greg Land makes that impossible.

Even better, Herc with Spider-Man powers. That looks like it might bring some measure of iHerc's fun back to this new series, finally. Plus, Neil Edwards is out. I haven't seen June Brigman's work, but hopefully she has a more energetic, interesting style.

F*** New Avengers Annual. I was hoping Bendis had just forgotten about screwing Wonder Man over. :csad:

Oh snap, the Destroyer with Mjolnir on the cover of The Mighty Thor. Does that mean Thor gets to wear the Destroyer armor again? That'd be neat. I'm not sure about their capitalization of "Fallen Asgard," though. Makes it sound like things are gonna be that way for some time, and I'm really hoping Asgard gets rebuilt sooner rather than later...

Hmm, Waid's Daredevil actually has me somewhat interested in the character. That's more than Bendis or Brubaker ever accomplished already! I may end up trying that series out, especially with Marcos Martin coming aboard.

Reeeeeaaally want to read Rucka's Punisher. Can't wait until that starts.

What is Vengeance and why is the Black Knight falling in love with the Ultimate Nullifier in it?

Ooh, Leonard Kirk on X-Factor? :awesome:

There's no Incredible Hulk(s) in September or did I seriously miss over it when I re-read those solicts twice?

Oh? That's fine. Then kick the f&^% in' Red Hulk out of "Hulk" and have that be Banner's title, then. Otherwise, the hell?!

Banner's gonna be all hammer-possessed in Hulk vs. Dracula still. I'm sure he'll get his own series again after that.

I'm looking forward to both Rucka's Punisher and Waid's Daredevil. Both seem like they're going to be awesome.

So can we all agree that Mark Waid's Daredevil is going to be the best Marvel title out this year?

Implying Jonathan Hickman's Ultimates with the most badass Nick Fury on the lead isn't going to win the hearts of men. :P

I'm really happy/excited about the Dark Avengers making a comebakc and Norman Osbourne and H.A.M.M.E.R becoming this big AIM/HYDRA alike villain group, tho i really don't see what Bendis is planning with Wonder Woman (EDIT: MAN!) and Revengers, it all just sound so ridicilously stupid. Hating the violence Avengers "cause" and solving it with more violence, what is this a fanboy making a vs. battles? :p Still with Dark Avengers i hope they keep that iconic "evil take on X avengers" approach when assembling the cast, like get Scorpion as the evil Spidey and Moonstone to the Dark Avengers! Jeff Parker's Thunderbolts could use a less annoying character but even Parker handles that woman wlel, i just really dislike her and prefer Songbird. :p

Maybe Baron Zemo could join the Dark Avengers too? Or is that too much "Mastes of Evil" approach?

Daredevil joining the New Avengers seems cool too and damn is that Moon Knight #5 cover amazing. I'm also really happy how you can't really compare the X-Men of mainstream and Ultimate. Mainstream X-Men still fight with their ideals, is it Xavier's side or Magneto's? In Ultimate they are just government creations with all that info out the people will also hate the government for creating "these freaks". Being an X-Man in Ultimate is to honor the ones mutants who fought for their own rights and surviving ina world that hates them for simply who they are. Nick Spencer is so gonna deliver. :word:

I doubt Bendis is planning anything with Wonder Woman...

Ups! I.... I blame the WW Flashpoint #1 preview!

I'd like to read Daredevil but I got to wait till the 1st is out so I can decide to not. Other than that. Not a thing. Might not even buy Daredevil if money doesn't start flowing into my bank account.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly....MORE CASANOVA!

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #670

"Spider-Island" PART FOUR
Nearly 50 years in the making, the story which MUST BE READ: J. Jonah Jameson: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAYOR?!! ‘Nuff Said?
Almost, because if that wasn’t enough, a long running member of the Spidey cast has to make the ultimate sacrifice…

Reading that last part gave me the uncomfortable and paranoid feeling that the part in bold is pertaining to Mary Jane. And if that's the case, hopefully, this just means that MJ, in an effort to help Peter, makes the choice not to get rid of her spider-powers when she has the chance to cure them and thus the "window" for removing them before they become permanent has passed--not that she dies while heroically protecting Spidey and other New Yorkers. After all, "ultimate sacrifice," at least according to the urban dictionary, means "To give everything you have to save someone or something that you hold most dear," and doesn't necessarily mean death. After all, having a long-term supporting cast member keeping their spider-powers after this event would have just as much of an impact as killing them off would.

However, if this means a long-running supporting character is going to die (this is an event after all, and comic book events always have someone notable being killed off in order to show how "serious" this is) the other option could be Randy Robertson makes a heroic sacrifice...which, of course, frees Phil Urich, a.k.a. the Hobgoblin, to "console" a grieving Norah as was hinted in the preview images from Amazing Spider-Man #654.1. Also, someone being killed off at the half-way point would suggest the character in question would be a "B-lister," i.e. someone who has some importance, but only for regular readers of the comics, since the only time prominent "A-list character" tend to die is towards the end of an event, not in the middle of one (although Nightcrawler in Second Coming was kind of an exception). Besides, Aunt May, J. Jonah Jameson, and Flash Thompson are definitely safe, as would any of the new supporting characters.

Incredible Hulks is ending in August and I think Marvel is waiting for the end of Fear Itself to relaunch Incredible Hulk.

I think the safe bet is Randy Robinson biting it. Outside of being one of the bright spots (along with Jill Stacy) of the "Mackie/MJ dead era" he's served no other purpose since. Killing him will increase the threat of Hobgoblin and throw more interest in the way of Robbie and Norah. A lot of death in comics lately.....so morbid.:o

FEAR ITSELF #6 (of 7)

The penultimate chapter of the apocalypse is here! Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man scramble to make Earth's last stand against the relentless Serpent and his army of world-shattering avatars--all while amongst unbelievable chaos and destruction, Spider-Man makes the choice of a lifetime! Dark Asgard has risen and all of Earth's forces converge on the World Tree as the globe shudders in the shadow of FEAR ITSELF!
Oh boy....what're they gonna have Spidey do this time? Unmask again?

Maybe the choice is to undo Mephisto's time manipulations. Considering that Mephisto considers the Serpent to be a threat to Hell and is attacking Hela whom the Serpent wants as an ally, maybe he wants to convince Spider-Man to rejoin him and restore his marriage with Mary Jane and his relationship with Aunt May.

But then he refuses the offer because he realizes that he loves Carlie way too much, in an attempt for Marvel to dick with us.

I think you hit the nail on the head there hippie.

Man, Marvel is having a hard-on with crossover events. Fear Itself, Spider-Island, and Schism. Bleh...

After Siege (which i actually think is their best event), i called it quits with the events. I was along for the ride with House of M, Civil War, WWH, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign and Siege. I was even digging the whole Messiah Complex thing with the X-men but then nothing got resolved (do we know who Hope is yet?) and it just led to more and more events. I only read books that aren't affected by events like DD, Mighty Thor, Moon Knight etc.
