I really like what I've seen from this kid, tbh. I liked him in his smaller role in Never Let Me Go, and the clips I've seen from Red Band Society are great.

I agree. If they are going younger, Rowe is definitely my favourite pick.

I don't know what's worse... Waiting for a BvS trailer or Spider-Man casting decisions.

Personally, definitely the Spider-Man casting.

Second post in a long while, since my last post about a week ago. I decided to catch up on all the discussions in the general discussions threads to be up todate on everyone debates and all the crazyness going on. Plus its been a long time since i posted at the boards and wanted to see everything.

First i still doubt we would see an ethic peter parker. like others have said its nothing about being racist or anything. and yes i get nothing really in peter's backstory needs to just be he is white. I just see it as a uneeded change like the whole deal with michael b jordan as johnny for the new f4 film. There is no need to change peter, and if you change peter we lose the cool factor in ever doing miguel or miles down the road. Since there ethnic backgrounds are a driving factor in there story. If anything yes maybe a non full cacuassian may be cast. But it likely still be someone who looks dominately white.

As for the current rumors with both logan and dylan still. if either of them get it i would be fine with it. Havent seen much of either. But both are solid actors and if either are picked i would be fine with them. Also i cant see marvel/sony going for a totally unknown. They likely would want someone with some work behind them like logan and dylan have. Plus both are still early 20s and could pull teen spidey off for a few solo films, and grow into young adult peter over the course of there contract.
Which the contract i be betting be a 6 picture deal overall for marvel. 3 solo films for sony, and 3 marvel teamups, likely being cap 3, infinity wars 1 and 2, and then some other film after that. Then if the actor wants to continue we get reup on contract then. And this would likely hold on to the actor to atleast 2022/2023 time frame.

As for the current rumors about drew as a possible director. I would be fine with him. He has the whedon connection and if he is in maybe joss can help things along too which would be good. And if not hopefully we land on a solid director. The only thing i didnt like about the latino review report on drew was the story direction.

Which that i hope isnt true. Yes we heard the rumors/reports they dont want origin and spidey already in action. But i still rather it be a new to fighting crime spidey. Ie only been in the suit for a few month's up to a year before the solo film happens. The biggest problem with having the 6 in first movie is no build up and harder to devlop all the villains in one film. On top of also having to deal with peter's highschool life, aunt may, and possibly the bugle crew too. That seems like for to much to have in one film.

I rather stick to 2 to maybe 3 villains. 1 is the main villain, 2. a minor theat spidey tangles with for a few scenes, and then maybe someone like kingpin/norman in a supporting role setting up future issues with spidey and other villains. Personally villains wise i go with for first film is shocker as a supporting/minor threat and mysterio as the head villain. Both i think would be solid start up villains and give us some good story and development.

As for first look at peter/spidey i do hope we get a post credits scene attached to avengers. If spidey is already locked or gets locked this month i think it would still give them enough time to shoot something. my two cents on scenes i go with are this. the one i want is we see peter(actual actor if he is signed) at a science fair we see the spider bite him, and peter not feeling good and heads outside. Where he is almost hit by a car but get gets the spider sense warning and leaps and we see him clinging to side of the building and end scene. So then we got origin scene out of the way and his civil war appearance could be set a few months after said scene.
Second if we truely dont see origin at all, which would be a waste in my book we should at least have something like i said above for the marvel take on spidey origin and all. But if we skip origin totally like others have said i would go with a scene we see some robber running gets webbed up cops find him and we see spidey swinning away.

Nope. I'm still waiting for the day Dylan is cast.

I'd expect Mysterio, people have been asking for him since forever. I could do with less Mysterio and more Vulture and Venom/Carnage.

I really don't see what's so great about Mysterio. Holograms and wacky visions and psychedelic scenarios... instead of super destructive fights across New York where the destruction is real and the stakes are high. With Mysterio the entire climax of the movie could take place in a McDonald's parking lot. Seems lame to me.

Because really, they have the most potential and are something we haven't seen at all you know besides Doc Ock.

Like with Venom for example. Say what you will about Spider-Man 3 but how would you do Venom in a way that's different then Spider-Man 3 while staying faithful to the comics? Ultimately, the only way is to do a full on Ultimate origin but still Spider-Man 3 was very much like the comics in the major points with Venom coming from space, suit attached to Peter's body, church scene, Eddie Brock publishes something fake, Brock wears the suit.

I mean with Doc Ock, Mysterio, and Kraven; you have something different.

Doc Ock who is one of Spidey's biggest villains and someone who is a match for Peter's intelligence.

Mysterio is the master of illusions. He is like Scarecrow in the Arkham games or Freddy Krueger but instead of trapping you in your worst fears or nightmares, he will trap you any illusion he wants.

Kraven is really physically a match for Spider-Man which we really have never seen. I mean yea Goblin in 1 with the graveyard fight but Goblin throughout the film was more focused on making Spidey's life a complete wreck not just trying to test his strength with him and see who is the superior hunter like Kraven.

Those 3 are the best villains to use and probably the only ones they should.

Mysterio is the Freddy Krueger of Spidey villains except when he gives visions (like how Freddy gives nightmares) he doesn't just focus on your worst fears, he'll do anything.

He'll have the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man attack NYC.
