@Spider-Gnome: If anything it now seem more and more likely that we know that unlike what some of the scoopers said Marvel and Sony ARE looking at 20 year olds, and there's no way that if they are looking at 20 year olds that they aren't considering O'Brien who's the fan favorite.

What's the consensus on Redditleaker? Is he considered legit?

His source was right about the details of the Sony/Marvel deal and it's the same source that said to him that Dylan is cast. I guess it's just a matter of opinions after. Some people trust him, some trust Elmayimbe, some trust Sneider.

Wow. This looks like Ditko Peter come to life to me.

I trust NO ONE!

And in this case it also seem like no one really knows what's going on with Spidey.

What I do know is this:

1. Young adults play teenagers all the time, so there's no reason for Marvel not to cast someone in his 20's.

2. People in their 20's are also less of a risk in many ways for movie studios to cast.

3. Marvel listen to the fans, Sony will do anything to make as much money as possible, and that Sony reads these forums.
Dylan O'Brien is the fan favorite and casting him will draw the fangirls (and fanboys) to the movie theaters.

That's what I know :woot:

I hope they don't cast one of these and then by 2017 the little bastard has a growth spurt to 6'3, gets a big nose and ears, and his voice drops to a husky Scooby Doo. It could happen.

Imagine that square head on a six foot pole. He'd spin a web and look like a washing line.

This is why I want Dylan cast. He's not going to have any random puberty outbreaks. That's why these studios cast older for teenagers, besides the obvious maturity levels and experience.

But all this speculation that is going on, the oldest has been 20, and everyone is a buzz on these final five strong favorites.

(Just as Marvel wants... :cwink:)

Other than the fact that I really feel he would be fantastic as PP/SM, this is why I'd rather see Dylan than those other 5. His look is going to stay consistent and he has shown that he's incredibly dedicated to his profession.

Ya I brought this up before on whole age thing. We all talked about in past we know folks who are younger who look older and older age but look young. Age really isn't the factor. If they can give marvel sony what they want and have a fresh enough face for teen time. Who cares if they are 15 or 25 yrs old. Again by the time phase 3 is over.

It doesn't really matter what real age the actor is they will have done at least 3 to 5 films. And cover teen time. And then phase 4 the character will be a young adult. And who cares by then if the actor is 24 or pushing 30. They will still be younger then past actors. And would still be young enough to play the role for another hand full of yrs.

As for spiderman age and where abouts I take it. He is probably 15 yrs old right now in mcu 2015. Probably just got bit before or during the events of aou and the end half of aos 2nd season. So then come by civil war in 2016 peter is now 16 yrs old. And been fighting crime in the shadows for at least 6 to 10 months. But haven't become fully invested in hero duty and the public and press haven't really spotted him.

I said it before as great or known folks like El Devin Jeff s. They are not always right about every little story or scoop they come up with or post or speculate on. So again we should not take there words as the real truth. The only ones we should take is official words from heads of marvel and sony and the official press info.

Even Sneider himself said these aren't the final five.

It's not the real shortlist and Frosty, the one who first said there was a shortlist said there was more than just one guy in there that is in his early 20's.

Meaning Wolff isn't the only one they look at that is in his 20's, so I'm sure they talk to Dylan too.

Totally like others said Jeff article was typical click bait to get more hits on his site. If it was a final list he wouldn't say there was other names and these 5 may not even test for the role. Look back at captain america star lord thor and even asm spidey short list. And all those ones pretty much said these guys have tested or talked with the studios and each had a variety of chance to get role. Them either one of those names got role. Or like evans and Pratt came up much later and scored the role.

Whoever they get, Feige himself that the new Spider-Man will be the "motormouth" when he puts the mask on. And based on...

Robert Downey Jr.
Chris Evans
Chris Helmsworth
Chris Pratt
Charlie Cox

...I'm not worried on who they cast.

My deal with asa is sure he is a good actor. But it's for me is he hasn't shown and what little humor he has isn't what we ideally want out of spidey. Plus he is so petite frame and skinny he looks more puny pre bite parker. Then post bite spiderman. And I said it before someone with his body frame isn't likely to add muscle mass in areas we like to see more size on. And I don't want a twig spidey in civil war. And then 5 yrs later come to phase 4 films he is in and still look like a twig. Compared to all the others in the mcu.

I like someone with more body size and could add muscle. I like to see peter be shape wise we seen in 616 verse. Then skinny as heck ultimate verse peter.

Well then, you should check out more Ditko and less Spongebob.

I don't see it at all. He doesn't have the long, thin face, though honestly none of the proposed actors really have this. Actually, you know who really has Ditko Peter Parker's face?
