Part 46....this is the part we finally get the casting announcement. :o

Dony could be right, marvel could be trying to lead everyone off the dylan trail to make the announcement even more surprising!

We're getting a new thread almost daily and there has been pretty much nothing to talk about.

Kind of like the last part where we were supposed to get the announcement.

How can we fill up 41 pages within the next day talking about nothing?

I think they're still taking there time and covering their basis. Whoever they cast is presumably making a commitment for 5 years at the very least and more likely ten. The last thing they want is to have to recast an actor after a lukewarm reception that they're not too sure on now. Ultimately , I hope they're gonna explore all viable options and if the final actors they have aren't viable options, they should then look outside the box, i.e. their casting criteria, and explore other options.

This is kinda a unique situation since the deal is relatively new and Marvel had to sort of hit the ground running in find a replacement for Garfield.

The same way we do every night, DR. Trying to talk about the new Spider-Man!

I can't believe it. I know Marvel don't have to lsten to the fans, but to completely ignore the biggest support an actor EVER got to a role in their history of films?! I just weird.

I remember we started to do this around this time for the BvS teaser. We were eventually right… at Part 150.

What? DOB? Biggest support for an actor EVER? I can't tell if you're joking or not.

Who knows how long or when casting dtarted. I am sure marvel starting making lists of folks they wanted to look at. Back as far as Oct ish when deal was starting to get made. And then maybe probably started search officially once the deal became public to the masses and been working on it since feb. As other articles said they auditioned or tested around 1500 actors for the role. They probably did open calls while asking x names sony or marvel had. Did many round of testing to various marvel and sony folks. Probably did many tests of different age ranges. As evident to final picks ages. And then we get to the end have a mix of different ages and type of actor and probably have made there call or just having trouble settling who knows. We are not a fly in the room to know what is what.

The talks between Sony and Marvel that were mentioned in the Sony hacks never ultimately went anywhere, whereas the deal we got announced in February was a result of the "Spidey Summit" that happened in January. Because of this fact, Feige and Pascal wouldn't have even started THINKING about starting a search for the new Spidey until at least mid-February.

Don't care, still shouldn't take this long

There's no set timeframe for how long a casting search should or shouldn't take.

Marvel heard the support for Dylan.
And then they did what they had to do.

Unless production has already started on a film where the character being cast is supposed to appear in. At a certain point you run out of time.

And this has clearly not yet happened, given that the casting search for Spider-Man was still going on as of two days ago (albeit winding down).

If there were as much urgency to cast the role for his appearance in Civil War as some people seem to think there is, we would've seen a far more expedited process than we have.

On to thread 46. Will this one be are reveal thread.

As for the actor. I expect his deal be simular to Stan's bucky contract. A 9 film deal, with options to appear in any marvel tv project too. And the 9 films be 3 solo films, civil war, infinity 1 and infinity 2. That would cover 5 films at least for phase 3. 6th film likely being solo 3 be a part of phase 4. And then 3 more films over the rest of phase 4. And actor likely be working with marvel to at least 2026 off and on over phase 4 and phase 4. Then the actor at this time if it's asa tom be working with marvel to they are 28. If it's rowe about 29. And they would still be young after this. And could then possibly reup contract for another x amount of films.

Digic as I was saying even though deal wasn't finalized to jan feb time frame. It still doesn't mean marvel and sony couldn't have been making lists of names they would want to look at. Or for that matter even have just general meetings with actors to get a feel. That isn't to Un reasonable to think could have happened.

Then once everything became the go in jan and feb. They could really officially begin the actual casting process. Ie open casting calls. Looking at or offering chance at x actors. And go from there with how ever many and many rounds of testing. Or multi call backs with x actors. Again like I said we are not a fly on the wall. So we don't know all the ins and out on when they started things or how casting gone about.
