It's great to read about Sony and Marvel having the set rules of what Peter should be. Among those things, it's that he should be a heterosexual caucasian. Meaning - like in the comics.

It's pretty funny to read the outrage from some people that Sony and Marvel stick to the source material.

I mean, Peter not being caucasian I wouldn't have any problem with. But making him homosexual would change too much of his lore. Sorry folks, if you want a homosexual superhero, look somewhere else.

totally i dont expect any thing today or tomorrow as its the weekend. I do really hope it will be this coming week. As we got two weeks left in june. And i feel it would be best still to reveal it now. As the actor is more then likely signed and in prep work, and marvel is finishing there end of prep ie costume/scheduling and all that. Plus if we get it out now. WE are ahead of dc comic con plans, and we are out before antman press tours/buzz is out.

Plus as i keep saying we know civil war has two months left in shoot, we also know it is also moving production some point to berlin and puerto rico for filming in those locals. So i still figure atlanta shoot probably ends around july 12th range. And the actor pick likely filming within the dates of june 28th to july 12th range. No way they be revealing things after actor shot or much much later.

So Gifford also reports that Tom has the role. I don`t really buy into his or Talion`s reports completely, just like I never bought into DBS and redditleaker`s simultaneous claim that Dylan O`Brien was cast back when he and Logan Lerman were reportedly considered. This is not to say they can`t be right, it`s just that I have no reason to take their word for it, and taking one`s word in the internet can be very deceiving, as we all know.

And even if they do have sources, this could turn out to be another Josh Hutcherson/Andrew Garfield situation, where the former is reported to have signed for the role before the latter is actually confirmed.

I have a problem with both. Peter should always be Caucasian in my eyes, because that`s what he looks like in the original, visual medium (and no, I`m not Caucasian). He should never be homosexual either, because he has been portrayed as having very meaningful relationships with women.

This is not to say that I`m against him having relationships with men also, as he could be bisexual. In fact, now that Iceman`s out of the closet, I`d totally buy a book à la Superman/WonderWoman featuring Iceman/Spider-Man as a couple, as they can be quite fun and entertaining. I`m just against making Spider-Man gay (as in only attracted to men), because that would invalidate his previous relationships with MJ and Gwen.

the thing though with all we know we know it is either tom or either rowe. There has not been any more info stating any new names, or past names back in the mix. We know there is only so much time left in civil war. And things like locking in the actor, getting schedules worked out, and costumes finished. Are things that need to be done in advance of filming by at least a few weeks. So we are more then likely at the end of the road, and either tom or rowe have signed there contract this week some time. And all these final prep stuff are now under way. With marvel/sony just waiting to spring the news to the world in what ever way they are.
