This could very well be the thread in which we finally get news

But we'll probably have to stop posting on it for a while.

Heck I don't know lintz work but he'll I did not want him though. Even if we don't like x guy we should be nicer in saying our dislike on them and stop the needless bashing.

Have any of you actually seen Lintz's acting? If you haven't you really can't say he is worse than Asa.

Matt Lintz didn't just make it to the final 3 without being pretty damn good. Obviously better than Asa. Facts are facts.

:D

Hey I'm all for Lintz if they(Marvel and Sony) decided that he's the best captures Spidey's/PP essence. You need not be a very good actor(Asa for instance) to be a perfect Spidey, just a perfect actor for the role.

But if someone wants to argue that Matt is a better actor than Asa , then I would want something to back that up.You know like a list of accolades and/or some samples of notable performance.

for all we know, Asa could still be in the running.

as could Plummer or Lintz.

Could you list me the awards that he have been nominated /won and some proof of his excellent filmography , please?

Acting talent is only 7% of the casting process.

Yup(:
Discussing her work, Hiller said few actors could be so versatile that they become entirely different people, and that most essentially play versions of themselves – or, as she put it, they “operate on the same base energy sphere”. (Asa Butterfield anybody?)

..there are many variables that come into play before acting talent becomes a deciding factor in whether or not an actor got a particular part. Acting talent, she said, may only account for 7% of the reason a particular actor would be cast in a role, citing other factors ranging from age and ethnicity to “box office value in China”.

Hiller illustrated her point by adding that an actor friend’s agent had told him he wasn’t leading man material. The actor finally realised that this meant he wasn’t handsome enough

Hmm looks like alot of posts got deleted. Like I said earlier we need to stop bashing so hard on things. I really hope once we get some real news things can even out better amongst everyone.

X I don't think asa or the minors are a option any more. Really if there was any inkling they where still a option the trades or the scoopers would have likely made mention of it. For me I think it was clear it was down to rowe and tom. And the winner is likely already signed

That's the thing.Nobody have ever seen his acting. He's only have played side characters so far and even those performance have been under the radar( at least as critics and award committee goes). It could be that he may be this diamond in the rough actor just waiting to shine ,but till that happens I take any suggestion that he's better than some more acclaimed actor with a grain of salt.

So, anyone still have a problem with this being an origin film. Because I gotta admit, the further away from TASM1(which is a whole 5 years away from 2017) we get the more I think instead of skipping the origin a new take with more detail would be nice.

They said it won't be an origin film.I take that they might do like what they did with the Incredible Hulk , with the origin told in a montage/flashback /some snippets.

I believe they've said they won't be doing a straight up origin movie again.

if we see the origin ( bite, Uncle Ben's death, etc. ), it would probably be woven into the narrative through flashbacks or some other means.

In that case that fact is not actually fact, since Sneider's report of it being down to Plummer, Holland and Lintz was admittedly false. Faraci's report that it was down to Rowe and Holland is the one that is actually true. You could make an argument that, since both Lintz and Butterfield were in the final 6, they are both in the same league, which another discussion entirely. But both of them, as far as we know, were discarded in favor of either Holland or Rowe, and we don't know which one was discarded first.

I don't mind origins. But like others we don't need to spend half the film on it. And even though it's been said we are post bite in action for a bit. I still expect at least a flash back of ben death or of ben in general and mcu stamp on the spider bite.

We'll definitely get an origin story, just not in the way we normally would get it.

Remember how hopeful we were in the 1st page? Now we're just talking about stupid nonsense. Good times.
