Sony and Marvel's new films will feature a younger Peter Parker, who is just a freshman in high school. Therefore, the studios seem to also be aiming for a younger Aunt May to present an updated, more contemporary version of the character.

Contrary to other reporters, THR hears that Tomei's Aunt May may be making her first appearance in Marvel and Disney's Captain America: Civil War. Holland's Peter Parker is also expected to cameo that in the 2016 film.

Makes sense for the NYC scene in Civil War to have her in it. Could show something like her calling him asking when he's going to be home. He could be fighting off criminals talking to her on the phone Spectacular Spider-Man style.

The leaked Sony emails from Pascal had her pondering how much say Sony had in the casting of Peter, May, as well as the shooting location for their home. So there probably is a scene in there at Peter's house.
