Well Ant-Man and the Wasp borrowed from Iron Man's gallery and so has Shang Chi. So I don't see why War Machine couldn't. It's not like Iron Man is using them currently. Also I prefer to not see completely original created characters for the series because then there's no affinity towards any of them.

Give us Stilt Man, the Controller, the Raiders, Beetle, Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man. And most importantly, Firepower. Although if he fought Firepower and lost, who is going to invent a new armour to beat him since Tony can't do it?

So, I know that Cheadle has been filming season 3 of Black Monday. And I guess they're still writing the series and looking for a showrunner. Hopefully the series can start filming before end of summer.

In theory, I am fine with original villains, since a movie director/screenwriter isn't automatically some lesser contributor to the mythos than the countless writers a comic book gets. In practice, the issue IMO is that almost any "original" villain idea is going to overlap significantly with one or more existing villains, at which point, why not just use one of them in your adaptation? Its not like whatever new twist or angle, if it actually is new and worthwhile, can't be applied to them. Thus, unless the Original Villain ( Do Not Steal ) really *is* original and innovative, it creates a sense not of creativity but of laziness or haughtiness or both. "I'm too good to spend my time researching the source material", etc.

In this case, the Iron Man rogues gallery ( because lets be realistic, War Machine is a supporting hero who exists connected to the Iron Man mythos ) is almost the perfect toybox for a scriptwriter or director. Its full of tons of villains from decades of comics, of almost every imaginable type. . . all of which are obscure enough that you have a free hand to adjust or adapt them without immediately setting off a bonfire of criticism. People, even normal non-geeky people, have a preexisting idea of who Lex Luther or the Joker is, but nobody outside the mega-geek set knows that the Crimson Dynamo even exists. . . and those who do, are probably aware enough that there are a bunch of different versions anyway. So, does the showrunner for Armor Wars need an evil corporate exec? An ex-military mercenary villain? A half-mad gadgeteer making kitbashed stuff? An evil clone sent by aliens from the future? They can probably pull someone from canon who is at least partly what they had in mind, give them some spit and polish, and presto, a new member of the MCU. And a lot of the time, they'll even have multiple choices to pick, too.

So essentially Rhodey is going to become Iron Man much like Sam is the new Cap.

I kinda hope not. He just needs his own flavor to develop his own brand. Focus heavy on the military commitment but also what he does on the side. As he's his very own man outside of Stark.

Armor Wars should've been Iron Man 3 instead of what we got. This is really a Tony Stark story and highly personal to him, and it's also one of the best Iron Man arcs.

Eh, I can see Armor Wars easily working with Rhodey. Armor Wars is, essentially, about Tony Stark's irresponsibility coming home to roost ( again ). Having it from the perspective of Rhodes just means its not about Tony screwing up ( again ), but his best friend *recognizing* how much he's screwed up. Basically, make it about contextualizing Rhodey's friendship with a deeply flawed person.

I had honestly assumed that Iron Man 2 was vaguely Marvel's attempt at doing Armor Wars. Obviously, only vaguely, but I never expected the show after that.

That was more their attempt at doing "Demon in a Bottle" rather than Armor Wars. DIAB was one of the best Iron Man stories and they made a pig's ear out of it.

Sure, the Demon in a Bottle aspect is obvious, but the stuff about his tech not falling into the wrong hands and eventually being coopted by Hammer definitely had some Armor Wars vibes.

His tech falling into wrong hands was also from DIAB with his armor being taken over by Justin Hammer to kill a UN ambassador, and Hammer trying to take over his company. Armor Wars was more about Stark going after different armored villains to whom Hammer had sold the technology years before (probably stemming back from the time of DIAB).

I want Leslie Bibb to show up in a Marvel show again as Christine Everhart. We haven't seen her since Iron Man 2 or those news segments for Ant-Man, and it would be great to have her guest star and see what she's been up to since then. Is she still a news anchor? How has she changed since the Blip?

Can we get an official start date? Is it still supposedly in pre-production with filming to begin this summer?

I like Don Cheadle as WarMachine…but people love IronMan because of RDJ and not because of IronMan(armour)

Is there any better opportunity than this to bring back Sam Rockwell?

Justin Hammer should return. A lot of people want the Punisher to return here, and I have doubts about that.

*blink* . . . why? What possible relevance could he hold in a plausible War Machine story?

Any news at all? I recall them (months back) saying it should go into production in spring or so.

I'm hoping it has an equally as big budget as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Also, that it focuses a lot on what makes Rhodey tick. How's his disability and active duty status affect his role as an Avenger despite heading into his 50s. A lot that 6 episodes can dwell on plus of course his outside life on whether he's family-oriented or has a girlfriend or so.

A lot of people like Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Frank Castle. I can't see it happening though.
