Marvel took away my Thing.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything is pissing me off today, this is the 4th thing that can legitemetelly piss me off and the 20th that has pissed me off.

This is horrible. I just hope the TPB collects all 8 issues. Hell I hope it comes out in 2 4 issue TPBs so I can spend more moeny on this. I'm gonna buy them. I'm gonne keep buying She Hulk TPBs and issues. I'm gonna go find the GLA TPB and buy that. Everything Slott is going intantly on my Pull List I don't care if it's Wolverine meets Wolverine in a bi monthy book drawn by Bachalo. I will buy it cause Slott Rules.

And while I love Slott and love him at Marvel I hope he cuts loose to DC as soon as his contract is up. Marvel has got to learn how to treat Talent and fans.

Now I'm sad.

I want to hear Dan't thought's on this.

well, they didn't exactly mistreat him like PAD, but for as good of a writer as he is, they should've treated him better... He should've been right in there with DC's big three, but they sort of kept him on the sidelines. Marvel offered him an exclusive contract and higher profile books...something DC should've done long before.
the situation was exactly reversed with Johns

Wowsa. Those're some serious pledges.

Its probably due to the fact that The Thing isn't as a popular character as other characters outside the fan base.

not just that. The month it premiered, it was the FIFTH FF title on the stands (Fantastic Four, Marvel Knights, Ultimate, and the Big in Japan mini were the other ones already out) not to mention Infinite Crisis premeired the same week. Under those circumstances, no book is gonna do well.

Funny, he was on Avengers, but at the time wasnt a big profile book.:(

It was when Busiek was writing it. It just sort of faded into the background towards the end of his run, though.

Really? That's just sad. Ben should've at least gotten as fair a shake as his teammate. :(

My comic guy was saying that Wolverine is the only member of either the F4 or X-Men to hold an uber-succesful ongoing due to lack of popularity of the other characters. F that, it's Wolverine's overexposure that propels his dumb book. Thing was awesome, the story was awesome, the art was awesome. Ugh.

Actually, I do read FF which increases th' sarcasm in my statement.

The sad thing is that no member of the X-Men or Fantastic Four is capable of holding their own title...except ****everine. You'r comic book guy was right :(

That was a good moment. I meant to find the Red Skull's quote from that, actually. Thanks for reminding me.

Didnt Gambit have a pretty long running series back in the 90's?

I must say, Chuck Austen's arc on Avengers was pretty good....

maybe if they put some HUGE profile guy on it, it could work. Don't they have Michael Turner exclsuive now? I don't care for Turner, but he could sell a book

He had a series that ran for 25 issues that started in 99

........the world would be a much happyer place if people watched more Invader Zim.
it would be even better if they got the quotes right

Man,
This is depressing. Dan, if you're reading this, I want to thank you for your great work on the Thing. It was nice to see some old school style done faithfully while exploring new problems for old blue eyes.

I only hope Marvel comes to and decides to reboot the series as it did She-Hulk and if it doesn't, you get more shots at some choice titles.

Son of a ****ing *****. Great, so that's one less QUALITY book from Marvel. Now we get more JMS an' BMB spooge soaked pages of refried uninspired crap.

Hahahahahahaha

I didn't even get through all the rest of the posts before putting my say in because this is just so funny.

There's a lot more important things in life to get upset about than comic books. I suggest getting a girlfriend. You will find yourself worrying about comic books a lot less.

I thought it was Geoff Johns that did that arc with Red Skull and that disease or whatever, but I could be totally mistaken. It might not even be the same story that Panther kicks his ass in, but if I'm right Chuck Austen can go back to completely sucking with his watered down Juggernaut and healing blood Angel.

Johns did write the arc with the Red Skull, the disease, and the Black Panther giving the Skull the beatdown of the century. It was called "Red Zone." Austen came later, and the only halfway decent arc he had on Avengers was "The Lionheart of Avalon" where, in spite of all that is good and right in the world, Austen actually managed to create a compelling character in the new Captain Britain.
