Marvel's June 2015 Solicitations

In the words of South Park, "Dumb dumb dumb dumb dummmmb"

Quick question for those who read the spider books:
Does Spider-Gwen actually call herself 'Spider-Gwen' as a superhero?
cuz if so that's the dumbest f'in hero name ever

I really think Marvel publishing's overall goal is to drive out any long time fan over the age of 39. The amount of crap that they are pedaling is alarming.

They've managed to take "the big three" (Thor/Cap/IM) at the height of their movie popularity and render each of their books unreadable. Then, they are doubling down on that crap well in to the year.

All Avengers books have been beyond awful under Hickman. Now, let's cascade that in to a new group of politically correct Avengers... groan. Marvel publishing is lost at sea and there's not a lifeboat in sight.

The age is lower than that. I am 35 and just about done with their crap.

I really don't understand your problems.
They are trying new ideas. I'm all for that.

I haven't stepped foot into this part of the Hype for a few months now. Well...I can see all of their latest offerings aren't exactly winning people over. I finally quit comics after some 25+ years at 36yrs old. The Marvel Universe I grew up and loved died for me back in 2003. It has took me over 10 years to accept that it wasn't ever coming back. Marvel today has become unrecognizable to me anymore. The constant shifting of status quo, non stop orgy of events and dilution of their franchises has become too much to keep up with. Sadly it looks like I made the right call. :(

I finally made the jump from comic-reader to trade-waiter myself at the ripe ole age of 30
My top 3 characters are Thor Cap and Wolvie, yet I've been reading Hawkeye and Daredevil in trades cuz theyre the only thing Marvel has worth reading at the moment

I'm not too thrilled with the whole Secret Wars thing, but I love most of what Marvel has been putting out leading up to it. I hope that their post-SW titles are as appealing as DC's post-Cinvergence titles.

The new Avengers team isn't the greatest for me, but it should sell great, considering who all they've got on it. As opposed to those talking doom and gloom, I'm thrilled that Marvel is bringing in new, young fans and seeing better sales than they have in years.

Eh, I'm looking forward to the new Avengers. I'll probably skip most of Secret Wars, though.

I'm afraid you're right there. I used to be a big X Men fan, but the gradual degeneration of the storylines and the treatment of my favourite characters has led me to quit altogether. Now they intend to 'wipe the slate clean ' - yet I have been enjoying Loki, Black Widow and Guardians of the Galaxy - and also Winter Soldier until the blue aliens appeared.

Yeah. I stopped reading three years ago. I figured it was just me...that after four decades as a fan i had become to old....it was like the characters i fell in love with were completely different, being written by "hip" new creators....but i seem to be seeing more and more fans becoming dis-satisfied with the current direction of Marvel. Just curious; how are sales these days...?

You pretty much summed up my feelings better than i just did in my previous post, lol...but yeah; all those things you mentioned just became more of an irritating pain in the ass more than anything else...

Not really. Sales for last month look to be about the same from when i stopped reading, from what i remember. Only one book, Batman, sold over 100k units last month....

You mean you guys don't wanna read about a police force of alternate reality Thors? I hadn't touched a comic book in 2 months before this week and I'm not really reading them with much enthusiasm right now. Never thought I'd look forward to the movies than the source material. The weird part is that I can't even explain why I'm not enjoying them anymore, although Thor #4 didn't help.
