I've mixed Raisin Bran and Frosted Flakes. I figured, "Bran isn't as good as Frosted Flakes by itself, so what if Raisin Bran had Frosted Flakes mixed in with its bran flakes?" The answer is that it's not as good due to the gestalt reason mentioned earlier.
