Massive Civil War Spoilers from Amazon (click at own risk)

I'm leaning towards prank. This doesnt make any sense. At least the Cap as Ronin rumor has some semblance of logic.

where the **** is "joe fridays"?!

i want an explanation for this!

Seriously, the two don't match up because it asks about the future of Iron Man- I'm betting, due to the title, that Cap becomes Iron Man over the course of this story. They don't match up because they're talking about two different people.

I just don't see this happening for a couple of reasons.

1. How the hell is Steve Rogers going to learn how to use Tony's armor? Caps smart, but he's no where near Stark level intellect. Even if he chose to don the armor, it's counter intuitive to his character. For a Wild West like Cowboy type hero who does things the old school way, chaning into all of this new tech just seems illogical. Thats not his way of honoring the memory of a fallen soldier or friend. Even if he killed him.

2. There are a few books that seem to be couner intuitive to either Captain America, or Iron man being killed. The whole Iron man agent of shield thing, and Captain America Barganing. Despite what the picture looks like, to me it doesn't tell us anything about who does or does not die, but it seems to tell us what could possibly be on the bargaining table. IE the flag. As Iron man becomes the poster boy for the newly passed registration act, he is now under federal jurisdiction as America's next great hero. Steve Rogers sees that his country has turned against him, so he refuses to throw the shield ever again. Tony hopes to honor the man the only way he know how, by keeping the shield as a reminder of the price he paid in all he obtained. He wants to live up to the standard of Captain America.

3. I don't believe that Cap or Tony are going to die. I honestly don't have any real inclination as to whom I would consider, but my mind immediatly goes to Dr. Reed Richards. The fantastic 3 would be one of the most interesting books on the shelf after that, especially if he found a way to save the day while risking his own life. He might try to "Fix Things" as Sue so desperately wants him to. He's got a lot of his shoulders, and my money's on him. I haven't seen nearly enough press on future Fantastic four books to understand if this is even plausible, but I haven't really seen him around in many press releases either. Also, When I look at the Marvel descriptions of future books for the FF, All I see is classified information or vague discriptions of Who will be the FF after the families break up.

I think you all are missing out on the biggest hole here.

How the **** did caps shield get bulletholes in it?

Cap's shield has always (to my knowledge) stopped anything thats thrown at it or shot at it. WHy would it start getting bullet holes now?

Well that's what were about to find out. I think Frank Castle had something up his sleeve incase cap ever went rogue, and when Tony gets the shield he unloads. Of course this is only me just messing around with the circumstances.

I call Bull****!!

read the new interview:

the SRA still exists and is in full effect after CW, the Secret Avengers are still hiding

Dr. Strange sets up a series of spells so that from the outside looks like his house has been sold to Starbucks, and a Starbucks is “Coming Soon”, and if you go inside it looks like it’s been abandoned forever and that he’s moved away to Wundagore Mountain and is never coming back.

But if you know the magic word, it’s a lively, great headquarters where everyone can live and be happy, but even that spell … Iron Man ain’t buying it, and there is even a battle of magics that goes on to try to discover them. To New Yorkers, any building you see being turned into a Starbucks, you just walk away and say “Oh, that’s too bad’ … it wouldn’t surprise you that any building is turning into a Starbucks, even as building a great as Dr. Strange’s

Steve versus the people that believed in him and stood beside him during the war?

So what, did Steve turn on his friends and is now helping to hunt them down?

In She-Hulk 15 Iron Man's the new SHIELD director, in issue 17 she finds out what happened to her cousin the Hulk, the cover of issue 18 shows her and Iron Man about to go at it.

Cap's shield has been shattered before (in Secret Wars 1 from a blast by Dr. Doom armed with the beyonders power), so though it is incredibly tough to almost anything, it isn't completely industuctible (much like Adamantium, which is a part of it's alloy - the other metals are Vibranium and I think something else that's always been regarded as unknown).

Btw, Steve repaired the shield by willing it better (a sort of wish-fulfillment effect left on Battleworld after Doom was defeated).

Thor hit Cap's shield with a Godforce enhanced blow and it only dented it. It got shattered in Secret War because it was affected at the molecular level. Unless Antartic Vibranium can now affect Cap's shield there's nothing in the Punisher's arsenal that can get through Cap's shield. Those bullet holes are there probably for dramatic purposes, if not then they,re there for moronic purposes.

whats the chance that human torch or mr. fantastic dies

isnt invisible woman wanting to hook up with captain america now why would they just kill that off

Human Torch is part of the new Fantastic Four. He's not dying.

And Sue isn't romantically interested with Cap; she's just siding with him. We don't know her fate, or that of Reed.

Oh, I agree: The only instances of Cap's shield being damaged are by heavy cosmic level powers (something waaay beyond anything Frank could set-up, I dont care how much prep time he has).
I'm not familiar with antarctic Vibranium though...what's that all about?

you're 19 yet that post makes you come off as a horny, virginal, 12 yr old noob. :o

i think the symbol of the shield with holes in it is just trying to show how bad A$$ the fight could have been

Okay, first of all, if this is true, then this is by far one of the biggest jump the shark moments Marvel has ever done. No scratch that, this isn't just jumping the shark, this is flying over the shark and into orbit.

Now some are saying this is fake, but here's a couple of things for you guys to ponder over:

1. When was the last time Amazon did fake advanced orders for upcoming books?

2. The reason why the cover looks like this:
moz-screenshot.jpg
0785122990.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V46364573_.jpg
well you've heard of comic book covers giving a representation of something not necessarily a scene out of the book. The cover is symbolic, from the color of Iron Man's suit to the battered shield to the American flag to suggest that Steve Rogers has traded one identity for a new one. Considering all the other preview art, the Iron Man armor's colors have not changed.

3. Did some of you not read this?:

Book Description
Tony Stark, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. It's day one of a new role for Tony as he takes up the mantle of the missing Nick Fury to lead S.H.I.E.L.D. into the 21st century! But what does this mean for the future of Iron Man? Collects Iron Man #15-18.

Considering how Iron Man has been offered the job of S.H.I.E.L.D. director TWICE both in Iron Man and New Avengers, there's no way Marvel would let something like that slide. Like one director or writer said, if you introduce a gun in the first act, it better show up and be used in the third act. This, plus that leaked artwork that had Iron Man: director of S.H.I.E.L.D. on it pretty much suggests Tony Stark heading S.H.I.E.L.D. and someone else taking over as Iron Man has some legitamcy.

4. Did you also not read what this guy claims?
Reviewer:Treythor (Merrillville, IN USA) - See all my reviews

We learn that Tony stark was never in the iron man suit!! From the beginning Steve Rogers was Iron MAN and Stark was just the public image/persona. Rogers was never frozen after WW2, It turns out that was his clone, part of the super soldier program (I guess they had cloning tech back in the 40s

So let me get this straight? [blackout]the Captain America we all thought was real since 1960 something was not the original people read about in the 1940s but a clone created by Tony Stark and that the real Captain America is alive and well somewhere else? Didn't they try something similar with Spider-Man involving his clone? Oh that's right, it didn't work very well, did it? The definition of insanity is, after all, repeating the same thing over and over again hoping to get a different result.[/blackout]

So that means folks that [blackout]Captain America could in fact die in Civil War but not to worry because he was just a clone created by Tony Stark, so he's not really dead. Which means the real Steve Rogers is out there. After all, if you remember in House of M, Steve Rogers was alive but long since retired as Cap because the Avengers were not there to retrive his body. But wait a minute, if the Avengers weren't formed as a result of House of M, then wouldn't that mean Cap's body would still be frozen? So how come Cap was able to grow to old age? Unless of course, Cap never was frozen in ice, that it was all part of an elaborate scheme by Tony Stark to bring back Captain America. But since Cap was an old man by then, perhaps a prisoner of the Russians until Iron Man found him sometime after the cold war. So, he had this real Cap placed in the Iron Man armor to occassionally substitute for Tony Stark, which not only prolonged Cap's life but perhaps, along with the super-soldier formula, help to ****** and maybe reverse the aging process. He then had the real Cap cloned just like he did with Thor, placed the Cap clone in the iceberg and made it look as though Cap was "rescued" out of the ice. Now when "Cap" dies in Civil War, obviously Stark can't reveal the truth that this Cap wasn't the real deal, but he also needs someone to replace him. Enter the real Steve Rogers. Far fetched? Yeah, well so was the concept of bringing Bucky back.[/blackout] And if this is true, I'm willing to bet that THIS GUY:

http://www.marvel.com/catalog/?id=6338

is the REAL Captain America, a.k.a Steve Rogers.

Well, it's confirmed that
Tony is the man behind the armour, at least in Mighty Avengers
. Just seen a scan in another thread that proves it.
