Massive Civil War Spoilers from Amazon (click at own risk)

Quesada on the pic:

NRAMA: Well then, you may need to address this for us. Over at Amazon, there's a listing for Iron Man: Steve Rogers, a new collection of Iron Man coming in June. For spoiler's sake, we won't go into too much detail about the contents, but it appears that Tony Stark will be taking a role with SHIELD...first off - many people are suggesting this is misdirection or a teaser cover...is it real? Anything you can say about the description?
JQ: Sorry, Matt, I went to the link and there's nothing there. Can't help you with this one.

NRAMA: Okay, there was a listing – and it’s been seen all around, with a figure in a red, white and blue “Iron Man” suit. Publishing strategy-wise, how do things like this get out so early?

JQ: In all seriousness, this is the constant battle that we have to fight between promoting our books and keeping storylines as secretive as possible. Also, with so many different and growing avenues by which to solicit our product mistakes are bound to occur, especially as all these different avenues have different solicitation cycles.

It doesn't make me happy, but it's the cost of doing business on a larger scale.

So essentially he's just denying it's existence, then comming back and saying "well, sometimes **** happens, so oh well"...Woo

That doesn't sound like a denial to me.

Rich Johnston says its a fake. Or at least thinks it is: I'm not sure how the red light should be read for this one.

I think this guy is a bit hit & miss with his guesses though...As I recall, based on early pencilled pages, he thought John Byrne's Doom Patrol was a new Green Lantern Corps series.
As for the photoshop manip claim...well one of the pics is a manip or derived from the other at least: Either the full 'Iron-Cap' shot is the original or the helmet & shot-up shield one is.

That JQ article has me more confused than ever. He said the link doesn't work, but was up for awhile, and the pic probably isn't hard to find on the net. So either he's purposefully misleading to make us think it's real to take us off the track of what actually happens, or it's real and confirming it would indeed confirm that it's a new book which matches up with him saying -

" NRAMA: First of all, no Cap? How come? Where is he?

JQ: All will be revealed soon enough. To reveal that would unfortunately reveal our plans for a new book or two…"

I was starting to not believe it, but his lack of denial of even it's existence has me wondering.

Okay, afte rpage 4 I stoped reading so i'm sorry if some one said this, The link no longer works as amazon, and why is every one guessing who Ronin is? it isnt Echco any more?

Killing Cap is like killing Superman or Batman. Huge flagship character. Movie coming out. And it would last a week. Same with Tony.

All likelyhood this beloved character is someone much smaller. One of the Young Avengers, Punisher perhaps (he is technically outside the MU in the Garth Ennis book), Hank Pym, Doc Samson, Hercules, Cloak and Dagger, Falcon, Bishop, Nighthawk, Arana, Nick Fury....trust me we have plenty of choices that qualify as "beloved heroes" if someone so chooses. And Joey Q always plays these coy little games that it's "has long lasting ramifications".

Let's use "House of M" as an example. "No More Mutants", what did that end up meaning. No More Mutants who haven't been used in ten or twenty years. Polaris and Iceman both got their powers back rather quickly, Quicksilver got new powers and Angel (who was losing them right before our eyes)...totally fine. Magneto also turned out okay and is seemingly kicking around somewhere. Big surprise.

Or maybe we'll talk about "The Other" which killed Spider-Man only to bring him back with new powers they barely have even used or even bothered to explain. And with the black costume coming back you can forget about them.

Beloved hero. More like some B-Lister they can milk a few fan tears out of.

Ya they stated that Echo will only be Ronin for a little while, and that someone else would be in the Ronin costume after that. Echo will still be an NA tho.

They took the link down. The pic is still there if you go to the Joe Friday thread and go to the article in Newsarama you can see it.

No, Echo and Ronin are going to be in the same team. People are "guessing" who it is because Cap seems to be "missing" after CW and they're speculating that he either dies or is gonna be hiding as Ronin. And there is also a Ronin in the Ultimate Universe.

Thanks, I was J/w because back when I read new avengers, the big let down was Echo as Ronin. That arc left me with a bad taste in my mouth. At the end of Winter Solider, was Bucky good or bad, could he fill in as Cap while he's "missing"?

This business about Cap or Iron Man croaking is stupidness.
Marvel is f***ing up.

:whatever:

Civil War is going getting more worse and worse every week.

I agree.

Well there's a problem tho, I highly, highly doubt it's a minor character. After CW they have already announced a 5 step plan or something like that, dealing with grieving. ATM I forget the steps in order and don't feel like looking them up, it's something like -

1. Wolverine. The title they gave it is "Denial". Whoever it is, it's a character Wolverine (who's seen plenty of death), will go into denial.

2. A NA and Mighty dealing with "Anger"

3. Spiderman "Depression". The person who dies is enough to send Spiderman into a depression. Plus we've seen pics of Spiderman hugging a grave, his costume torn up and him crying in Aunt May's arms, and it's enough for him to switch to the black costume which he used to hate.

4. Captain America "Bargaining". No clue on that.

So it won't be some minor character. It could be a YA, but would that put Wolverine into denial, and Spiderman into depression? I say if it's not Rogers or Stark then it's someone like Nick Fury.

Well, other than the "Cap we all knew was a clone and the real Cap was Iron Man all this time" idea, how about this?

In Civil War #7, Cap is critically wounded in the battle between Iron Man and himself and appears to die when he's being given medical treatment; in fact there can even be a press release stated that Cap is in fact dead. In reality, Cap is alive but is so critically wounded that the only way to save his life is Tony's Iron Man technology. Tony Stark, as the new head of SHIELD, basically tells Cap that since the world thinks he's dead and that he needs Tony to keep him alive, he Cap is working for him now as Iron Man. "But what's to prevent Cap from turning on Tony?" you ask. Well, if the nanobots can be used on the Thunderbolts to keep them in line, then nanobots can also be used to keep Cap in line should he try to rebel against them. This is where the "barganing" comes in: Cap, seeing that he has no choice, agrees to be "Iron Man" for Tony BUT on the condition that he lead the registration sponsored Avengers, that if he wants to make sure to keep them in line and act as a buffer between the heroes and SHIELD. The fifth issue then will feature "Iron Man" only its Steve Rogers under the armor, not Tony Stark.

Cap would rather die than do something he doesn't believe in. Do you really think he's going to turn on everyone that followed him? Do you really think he's going to switch sides and start rounding up Non-registered superheroes?
What about the New Avengers? They're still hiding from the Mighty Avengers, the first chance Cap gets, he'll get in touch with Luke Cage and Co.

Unless Captain America turns into a selfish *****e, then yeah, he'll take the Iron Man armor, just to save his own life.
