Matt Reeves to direct "War for the Planet of the Apes" - Part 1

I'm so anxious to see this tonight. I have to stop staring at my clock.

My advice is don't listen to the soundtrack until you've seen the film. Watching the movie with the soundtrack unspoiled was an amazing experience. One of the best movie soundtracks I've heard in a long, long time.

were do you work I want that job lol.

I work for a medical insurance company. It's extremely laid-back. My boss is a lot like Michael Scott from The Office tv show. It's both good and bad. If you've seen it you know what I mean. lol

Back on topic. Does anyone know if this is the last Apes movie they plan on making? Or is there more in store?

There are plans for more but nothing definitive. I think this is probably Reeves' exit from the franchise, though, since he delivers his own conclusion to the story. But maybe he'll want to come back if there's a story worth telling, who knows.

So is this expected to knock Homecoming off the number 1 spot this weekend?

Edit: Never mind. Just saw BOM predictions.

It was so good! But so sad. I'll elaborate after I gather my thoughts and sleep.

Well, they said it was bleak.

Got my tickets booked for Monday. Hoping it does well at the box office this weekend.

Man that was intense, sad, and awesome. Great ending to the trilogy.

Been listening to the OST ever since I watched the movie. This might take the cake. Would kill to have something like this in The Batman.

Oh it was so good. I think I preferred Dawn slightly, but that still puts this movie in the top tier. Loved it. Especially loved how they handled the Colonel and Nova. I really enjoyed Steve Zahn's character.

9/10 This was a solid trilogy but I really hope they continue what they are doing over at CE.

I'm actually surprised because reading reactions from fans it seems like Dawn still has it slightly edged out, even though critics were saying it's the best of the trilogy. I think this movie is more technically impressive and better directed than Dawn but Dawn's script was a good deal stronger.

And yes, Bad Ape was great. His humor was used very sparingly but well.

Going to see this movie in about 19.5 hours cant want. Love dawn and liked rise and think this could be even better then dawn. See the movie is at a 94% on RT after 148 reviews. Hoping we will have like 200 reviews by the time I get up early in the morning tomorrow. The movie is being predicted to make 50-60 OW from what I have heard but I think it will do more like 70 maybe even 80.

Yeah, they're claiming it's the best of the trilogy. Hopefully WoM will give this guy some legs.

This was great, Reeves is fantastic. Thought the first two acts were stronger then the third but overall really impressive filmmaking. Never was a fan of the Apes properties till these last two. Awesome stuff, can't wait to see what he does with Batman.

9/10

I really wonder if Reeves had this sort of beast inside him all along but never had the right project to unleash it on. I haven't seen Let Me In so I can't comment on it, but I thought Cloverfield was decent but forgettable, then all of a sudden he gave us Dawn and War which are among the most ambitious and engaging blockbusters of the decade.

I think this is an A-, a weaker A- than Dawn's, but the same score nonetheless.

I thought Let Me In was great and I was rooting against that film since the original was near perfection. It won me over for sure.

But yeah, these past two flicks have been just stellar.

Best blockbuster of the year for me together with Logan!

See Let Me In. It's much more in line with the Apes movies than Cloverfield was. Reeves' focus on characters and their point of view is his strength and that's got me excited for his version of Batman too.
