MCU Fight: Black Widow Vs. Okoye

We will be doing VS. battles for the MCU every week and will be using the Winners and Losers to create an accurate power tier list created by some of it's biggest fans (you). So, without further delay here is this week's match up


BLACK WIDOW Vs. OKOYE

BLACK WIDOW

- Master Spy: Romanoff is a dangerous secret agent highly skilled in espionage, stealth, disguise, infiltration, and demolitions. Her talents and years of experience have enabled her to reach a high ranking as a special agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. She often resorts to seduce men to obtain her goals while working undercover, such as when she posed as an assistant to evaluate Tony Stark for the Avengers Initiative. Romanoff's skills are so legendary that Nick Fury created a Lie Detector that he hoped she could not deceive.

- Master Martial Artist: Natasha is one of the best fighters in the world, extremely skilled in the field of martial arts, having mastered arts such as karate, judo, aikido, savate, boxing, lucha-libre style wrestling and multiple styles of kung fu as well as armed combat with her batons. She has easily taken down many enemies, such as dozens of Hammer Industries security guards, Georges Batroc's armed pirates, several members of STRIKE, dozens of Ultron Sentries, and even the hordes of Chitauri aliens. She is skilled enough to be able to defeat a mind-controlled Hawkeye, maintain the upper hand against Ant-Man, and even hold her own against the much stronger Winter Soldier, though he was able to bring her down in the end. Black Widow also proved capable of defeating many Outriders and managed to compete with Proxima Midnight alongside Okoye, even managing to disarm her, holding her off long enough for Wanda to kill her. In addition, she was skilled enough to stab seriously and almost kill, using the spear of Proxima Midnight, the superhuman Corvus Glaive, although she attacked him when he was unguarded.

- Master Acrobat: Romanoff is highly skilled in incorporating gymnastics and acrobatics into her fighting style as she battles opponents. During her fight within Hammer Industries Headquarters, Romanoff used these skills to defeat the guards. During the Chitauri Invasion, she got to ride a Chitauri Chariot by using her acrobatics to commandeer it.

- Master Assassin: Romanoff is a notorious master in the art of assassination, considered to be one of the most dangerous assassins in the world. She is known to have killed many people during her time serving the KGB and S.H.I.E.L.D..

- Expert Markswoman: Romanoff is a very accurate markswoman skilled in sharpshooting. During a Battle of Washington, D.C., Romanoff would have shot the Winter Soldier through his eye if he had not been wearing protective goggles. She was also able to throw a Taser Disk directly inside a hatchet in the Winter Soldier's metal arm.

- Black Widow's Bite: Electroshock weapon that can deliver powerful electrical discharges from two bracelets worn by Black Widow. When the Chitauri forces invaded Earth during the Battle of New York, Black Widow used the Widow's Bite to electrocute several enemy troops by jamming her charged fists into them. Romanoff used the Widow's Bite to take out a pirate guarding the Lemurian Star ship's engine room. Romanoff acquired a more powerful version of the Black Widow's Bite from Tony Stark, which causes the piping in her suit to light up and glow. Black Widow would make use of her bite during the Avengers Civil War, Black Widow zapped Ant-Man with her bite, sending her miniaturized opponent flying away and Widow used the bite to covered the escape of Captain America and the Winter Soldier by using Taser Disks fired from her bite to hold off Black Panther.

- Black Widow's Batons: Electroshock weapons that can deliver powerful electrical shocks to incapacitate her targets. Black Widow used the batons to take down dozens of Ultron Sentries with a combination of her weapons and martial arts mastery and employed these weapons during the Avengers Civil War, although not charged with electricity.


OKOYE

- Master Martial Artist: Okoye is the General of the Dora Milaje thus, is extensively trained and highly proficient in various forms of combat, with her skill marking her as one of the greatest martial artists, if not the greatest, in Wakanda, with only T'Challa possibly surpassing her. She prefers to battle with her Sonic Spear with which she is able to almost effortlessly incapacitate multiple foes at once during the casino fight. During the Battle of Mount Bashenga, Okoye managed to pin down Erik Killmonger alongside the other Doras and defeat many Border Tribe warriors without sustaining any injury. She also proved capable of defeating many Outriders and competing against Proxima Midnight with aid from Black Widow, holding her off long enough for Scarlet Witch to kill her, during the Battle of Wakanda, surviving with no injuries, only being no match for Thanos himself, who easily flung her away.

- Master Marksman: Okoye is an excellent marksman, able to throw her spear through the back of a window of truck exiting out through the windshield and penetrating the ground so that the truck could crash into the spear. She later threw her spear at Thanos accurately while running, although Thanos easily reacted to it and used the Power Stone to halt and blow her spear and Okoye herself away.
Spear Mastery: Okoye is extremely skilled in using her vibranium spear as a close ranged weapon, capable of easily taking out many opponents at once with it.

- Vibranium Spear: Okoye uses a specialized Vibranium spear capable of collapsing into a handle for concealment. The spear is sharp enough to pierce a Vibranium car during the Arrest of Ulysses Klaue and is strong enough to stop an SUV, as seen when Okoye threw it through the windshield of Klaue's goons' vehicle and embedded it into the road ahead, totalling the vehicle on impact. Her spear along with others have been shown to be able to interact with technology by striking the ground with the blunt end, notably electrocuting an enemy during the brawl at the Jagalchi Market Casino, and activating the drainage system for Warrior Falls.

- Dora Milaje Armor: As the General of the Dora Milaje, Okoye wears a slightly more elaborated version of the Dora Milaje armor, notably with the epaulets, bracelets and necklace being golden instead of silver. Being made of Vibranium weaves, the armor offers high durability and protection.
Kimoyo Beads: Okoye used her Kimoyo Beads to project images to the Tribal Council and to control the Royal Talon Flyer.

- Magnetic Boots: Okoye wore boots with magnetic soles during the Arrest of Ulysses Klaue, using them to secure herself on the roof of the Vibranium car Nakia drove.

Okoye would be a challenge but I think Black Widow takes this.

Her physicals are only human but for me Natasha's probably the frontrunner for most skilled fighter in the MCU. She's fought overwhelming numbers of Chitauri, Ultron Bots and Outriders that physically outclass her and not only came out of it unscathed, she left behind a major body count. She's beaten Hawkeye, took on Corvus Glaive/Proxima in close quarters alongside Cap and landed a (near enough) killer blow on Corvus and if you give her all her gear then she's an excellent shot and has a taser that can briefly incapacitate a superhuman like Black Panther through a vibranium suit.

Okoye's obviously highly skilled too, powers aside she's a rival to T'Challa for best in Wakanda. She also has vibranium weaved into her armour making her bulletproof/damage resistant everywhere but the head and her spear gives her a range advantage in close quarters. She just doesn't have any feats that suggest she's above Widow though. I actually think her best feat is taking on Proxima alongside Widow and even then, Proxima took Okoye out first.

For me this was one of the hardest battles to decide on yet. It would be such a close fight in my opinion, but given that Black Widow has had more appearances and has consistently fought and even beaten characters that should be out classing her in terms of power, I gave her the edge on this battle. Even though I agree Oyoke having Vibranium Armor would kind of equal out that playing field, I still feel Oyoke's armor does not cover every inch of her body like Black Panther covers his and Black Widow would find those exposed areas of weakness and exploit them until Oyoke was defeated.

At least thats how I see it.

Widow has the edge in skill. Sure, Okoye has better armour but we saw with Black Panther (and Vision vs Hawkeye) that vibranium doesn't protect you against electricity:

No weapons and Black Widow takes this. But give Okoye some Wakandan tech and weapons and it might be a different story.

Just their primary weapons i.e. Okoye's spear and Widow's bracelets and I give a small edge to Widow.

Either way it would be brutal and entertaining.
