I will be doing VS. battles every week and will be using the Winners and Losers to create an acurate power tier list created by some of it's biggest fans (you). After voting for a Winner please include a comment on which power tier, both the Winner and Loser should reside within. Also, see below for more details on the characters abilities as well as for a list of available power tiers to choose from.

So, without further delay here is this weeks match up.

DORMAMMU VS. ESON THE SEARCHER

*****Here are some of their powers, abilities and feats of strength.*****

Dormammu

- Cosmic Powers: Able to destroy Earth by consuming and merging it with the dark dimension.

- Extremely Long Lived: The Ancient One said Dormammu predate time itself

- Matter Manipulation: Able to completely control and manipulate matter within the dark dimension, even able to bestow powers upon others and influence outside dimension. Ranging from giant tentacles, to ground spikes, flying shards, and giant spiked orange balls of matter.

- Size Altering: Appeared to be several thousands of feet tall while confronting Doctor Strange

- Energy Manipulation: Able to fire purple energy as a continuous beam or several individual energy blasts which disentegrated Doctor Strange and the ground he stood on.

Eson The Searcher

- Cosmic Power: Destruction of a planet, wielding an Infinity Stone easily

- Extremely Long Lived: As a Celestial Eson's been around for millions of years.

- Gigantic Size: Seems to be over a thousand feet tall.

- Superhuman Durability: Durable enough to destroy a planet while standing on it's surface without fear.

*****Below is the list of power tiers to choose from. Please select a power tier for each character. Note: both characters can share the same tier.*****

Cosmic Tier (cosmic/interdimension level power/presence on a planetary scale, at the minimum)

Transcendent Tier (City to planetary level power & Cosmic/interdimensional level influence on a local scale)

Powerhouse Tier (Beyond top tier, power/interdimensional power on a block to city Level)

Top Tier (Street to block level)

Superhuman Tier (Street Level)

Street Tier (non super human, agent level)

*****As I mentioned earlier, as fights occur an official tier list will be created and updated by me and that can be viewed here.*****

So enjoy and I am looking forward to the first results. Spread the word.

Dormmamu for me bud, but mostly because he's SHOWN more due to having more screentime.

Also Eson The Searcher used an Infinity Gem to destroy a planet, Dormmau didn't need an artifact only his own power.

I agree with you which is why I voted Dormammu. Eson could be more powerful, but decisions should be based on what we could see and what we Know. So, based on that I feel Dormammu has the upper hand, but it will be good to see what others think. Thanks for voting.

Dormammu. Dormammu is a tier above Eson imo.

I'd place Dormammu on my cosmic tier, Eson on my transcendent tier

Update... jaqua99 who created a very nice power tier list in the other thread, has agreed to be my partner on this project. And one thing mentioned was categories that these power tiers can be organized into, which I think is a great idea. So, I ask after voting for the winning character, that you take a moment to leave comments for both the winner and loser and which categorical power tier they should reside in. This will help to reduce future battles as well because if two characters have been established to be in 2 differrent categories there is no use battling them as the outcome is evident. The list of power tier categories is below and in order from most powerful to weakest. Please pick one for each character.

Cosmic Tier (cosmic/interdimension level power/presence on a planetary scale, at the minimum)

Transcendent Tier (City to planetary level power & Cosmic/interdimensional level influence on a local scale)

Powerhouse Tier (Beyond top tier, power/interdimensional power on a block to city Level)

Top Tier (Street to block level)

Superhuman Tier (Street Level)

Street Tier (non super human, agent level)

So, those are the options. Sorry for not posting it sooner, but this is a work in progress. Also, please spread the word, so we can try to make this successful.

Thanks!

I feel, both Dormammu and Eson the Searcher belong in the Cosmic Tier.

Note: In the end I will add up all the votes for character category placements and average them out to establish it's true category place for that character. Please only give a category for each character once.

Thanks!

How long you wanna keep a thread open?

I don't know if I agree, or disagree with your placement of Eson the Searcher. My undersell is probably because his appearance was so brief.

But he was huge, and destroyed a planet with ease..so that's definitely up there.

Well it comes down to speculation to some degree, but part of my ranking actually pertains to Ego. I believe the Brain that formed the living planet around itself, created high functioning avatars for itself to explore space and plant seeds of himself to take over the universe like a virus. Is the brain that came from the Celestial head known as Knowhere. So, considering Ego's level of power as a Celestial, without a humanoid style body, I can only imagine how much more powerful they must be with arms and legs. Hence why I give Eson this position in the categories.

Also, my plan for keeping the thread open was for a week before starting the next battle, but we can discuss it.

I'd definately put Eson The Searcher in the Cosmic Tier, I feel any Celestial should be cosmic tier especially one that destroys a planet so casually.

Gotta be Dormammu

Dormammu > Ego > Eson (we didn't get any great feats from Eson on screen, kinda thinkin we won't)

He has a bigger combat feat than Ego actually, he destroyed a planet.

Y'know the more I think about Ego, i guess he was kind of a low-level threat. He took on like 8 mid-tier heroes in an area the size of a football field? hrmmm...

Which is why I placed him on in my transcendent tier. Yeah, cosmic, full planet sized presence but it was displayed here on a local scale.

Though as Surfer pointed out, his plan was universal

I say he's Cosmic Tier, but he has no destructive feats to match Eson or Dormmanu.

Cool! The only problem with using these results is that Hulk has battled in Age of Utlron and will again in Thor Ragnarok after the thread started, which these new appearances may sway peoples votes towards him either winning or losing the battle. So, I am not fully sure the results are accurate for the current Hulk, even though they very well might be.

Thanks!

Very true, I'll just close it then.

Per Big Thor's suggestion I am going to be adding photos of the Characters to try encourage people to be more excited about the battles. Great idea BigThor.

This :woot:

Yeah I vote Dormmamu as well. I mean the guy was shown as being one with an entire dimension and could control pretty much anything in it. He was tricked by an Infinity Stone but not physically defeated or hurt in any way. I think he's the strongest entity we've seen in the MCU so far.
