Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

No no no, Nathan or Rachel can be their child, Hope is not, she represents something else entirely
but you are correct on Bishop, he does need some buildup
Bishop is just getting a lot of "screen time" in the comics, so it seems like he may get a push in the films, not to say he would be there right away in the first film
I figured it would be a good way to streamline the story and make Cable's relationship to Hope more personal and make Scott's stakes in the story deeper. I mean, Scott and Jean are already Hope's paternal grandparents since she was adopted by Cable. Maybe she could be a time-displaced/alternative universe version of Scott/Jean's daughters like Rachel was

DP2 attempted to streamline the story by making Hope Cable's biological daughter

I'm picturing Bishop, born and raised in a camp who grew up to be in the XSE and the X-men's biggest fanboy, tracking a human criminal back in time to meet the X-men who end up being nothing like perfect heroes he thought they were. That's a pretty fun hook for a sequel.

I hate the direction Bishop went in after M-Day, but the MCU has experience adapting subpar stories and making them better than the original comics.
Yeah, it would be. If Wolverine is in the sequel, you could even have their stories bounce off of each other.

I personally think it was pretty true to his character and his original mission. Bishop being the type of person that walks the line between the "Ends justifies the means" philosophy makes him a more interesting character imo. And after M-Day, the "rules" that were set in place before were effectively eliminated. It changed everybody, even Scott. (We all know what he later became)

Of course, the MCU could probably do it in a way that solves many people's hangups with where Messiah Complex took the character but the core story of "Bishop travels to the future/past to kill Hope in order to prevent the Six Second War" could remain the same.

I might be the only one but I actually think Daniel Radcliffe would make a great Wolverine. This convinced me:

While obviously not ugly I don't think he has the classic Hollywood look to him which is a plus. There's something unique about his look. He's only 5'5 so we'd get our short Logan. I like how the facial hair looks in this image. Just put him on a training regimen to get him where he needs to be physically to play Wolverine and do the rest with makeup. Add some scars and whatnot (obviously not the lightning bolt scar though! :D) I don't think anyone would question his acting talent. I like it!
Has Radcliffe said he wants it or was he just joking around?

This. Bishop needs proper set up in order to be done properly. And it also allows Marvel to dip their fingers back into the idea of a post-apocalyptic future where mutants are put in internment camps and treated like animals (which we could later learn is the result of Scott and Jean's own daughter: Hope) without doing DOFP again.

Bishop is a character Marvel should have a long game plan for, considering the massively important role he plays post M-Day (if they ever go down that route)
Exactly. I think a 3rd X-Men film is the earliest I would expect to see him and you could do so much with him coming from the future into an established team who by now all have deep relationships and trust. This long game plan is the area where Feige and his guys can add the most value. You can’t start mucking about with the future if you haven’t planned ahead well, or you end up with a continuity like the Fox films.

My only issue with him is his voice is very boyish

Now if he ALSO goes on a strict regimen of smoking a box of cigars every day for a year, then maybe
I think he would have needed to start that at age 5 to be ready in time. :D:

I think someone suggested him on Twitter or something and he made a joke about it. He's not my first choice because I think I'd probably have trouble seeing past Daniel Radcliffe and accepting him as Logan. But I don't totally hate the idea after seeing that image from Boss Logic. But yeah he'd have to put on his best "I'm Batman" voice. :D:

This  Feige will probably have a trilogy mapped out and arc for each character like he did for Spider-Man and Hulk. Bishop is sequel or threequel material for sure.

Life is so much better when you have a Feige managing your most-loved properties.

I thought it was an outright joke at first but the image is really good. I'm a fan of Radcliffe and think he would be fine on the acting side. I just think I want an ambassador for the role who can look like he can handle himself in a fight in real life. That means a commitment to staying in Wolverine shape like Hugh Jackman did.

It's sort of in the same realm as Heath Ledger as the Joker. A casting choice I would never have come to on my own but when I actually see it it really works.

I mean, I guess I would give Radcliffe a chance. But you'd have to weather his face a bit and deepen his voice

Wolverine reluctantly works with the X-men in the sequel, but he doesn't work in a team and is borderline going to quit. Bishop shows up thinking Wolverine is a great X-man and is confused when his legacy doesn't match the difficult person Logan actually is.

Only Storm is as badass as Bishop actually thought ;)

The problem with Bishop in the comics is that they completely sacrificed his character to make Cyclops and Cable extra extra extra "right". That wasn't fair to Bishop, so I would hope the MCU gives him a legitimate side.

Daniel Radcliffe, Robert Pattinson, Kit Harrinton... I don't know why people keep suggesting twinks to play Logan.

Anyway... Apparently Dazzler will lead one of Marvel's upcoming animated series. Is this the first sign of a "mutant invasion" in animated shows?

Bring me a New Mutants animated series now. And X-Men too, of course.

You know what I just realized? if mark Ruffalo were 15 to 20 years younger and not the mcu Bruce banner, he would have made a great wolverine. Think about it, hes got deep voice, thick black hair, thick body hair, acting chops, hes short, add on the muscles and he wouldve been perfect.

I cant unsee him as a comical goof, which definitely isnt how I envision Logan

I mean I guess if only picture the comedic relief version of him. Which hes got plenty more range than that lol.

I wonder if Marvel will have Wolverine bounce back and forth between X-Men and the Avengers. Even in Avengers vs. X-Men, Logan was against the X-Men/Scott

See, I was thinking-- if Gambit is kept to the side, put on Disney +, whatever-- it could be fun if Bishop came back thinking Wolverine was the traitor. The X-Men have to find and protect him from Bishop while also protecting Senator Kelly or whomever (another MCU character possibly?)

Idk, just spitballin... but I hope that Bishop's story hasn't been ruined by Deapool 2 giving the whole "kill the mutant traitor in the past" story to Cable... Cable was supposed to come back to kill Apocalypse

Hmm, speaking of which. . . so, while everyone has pretty much assumed that Ryan Reynolds is safe as Deadpool, I think its not unreasonable to guess that he has at least a bit of an "aura of safety". Which is to say, the Deadpool-specific characters and actors might also not be rebooted, insofar as they are useful for specific future stories. Which doesn't mean they might not reboot any ( I bet Weasel gets recast ), but that they won't automatically reboot everyone.

I could see Blind Al staying and maybe Morena and Brolin

I don’t think it will have been ruined as there will likely be a long time before we see Bishop (I reckon the 3rd MCU X-film. Plus people aren’t as focused on the plot when it comes to something like Deadpool 2. :D:

Rumors has it that Channing Tatum will now play Adam Warlock, not Gambit anymore.
