My friend is contemplating shelling out 5k for a new chiropractic treatment in backpain. DRX 9000 is a new machine that supposedly helps with back pain. Ive been trying to talk her into getting more information on the machines use and recommendations from patients because there are a few big warning signs of this treatment being a hoax.
1. She would have to pay the 5k up front.(BIG sign in my opinion)
2. It doesnt matter if/when she decides to stop using it. Even after the first treatment she will still have to pay the full 5k.
3. Insurance does not cover the use of the machine.
4. There are info-mercials about the machine.
5. She can not get a trial use(paying for it of course) before full payment.
6. The treatment includes massage therapy and adjustments (all the regular chiropractor treatments).
There are a few signs that it is legit.
1. It has an 86% success rate. (noted on many self-found MD research pages)
2. It is endorsed and will be performed by a liscensed Chiropractor.
3. You have to submit an MRI before the chiropractor will agree to treatment.
4. The treatment includes massage therapy and adjustments (all the regular chiropractic treatments).
Has anyone had this done or know anyone who has?
Does it sound like a scam(does to me)? She has been talking about taking out a loan just to get this done. I can understand her enthusiasm for it as she seems to be out of options in recovery. Except acupuncture, I cant seem to talk her into trying it
Thanks in advance for your posts.
