Metal Gear Solid 4 Trailer Am Here!!!

It looks beautifull. Looks almost like a greek tragedy

It looks pretty sick ... I loved every single MGS game, and this one wont be any different. But I doubt Im gonna have it by the time it comes out. 600-700 is alittle too much for 1 game, even if that game is a MGS game.

i wonder
who dies, that Snake is saluting just like Big Boss did in MGS3
?

I'm sorry, but Grandpa snake just sucks

Phaser, what the hell are you talking about, absence of logic? The guy is old!! This trailer has actually convinced me a beard would look stupid on an aged Snake, so what else is your problem?? And the fact that you said your a Splinter Cell boy now, over changes to the looks of some characters? What is it with guys like you?

I'm sorry, but Grandpa snake just rocks

Considering this might very well end up being the last time we get to see such a kickass character as Solid Snake, the very thought of him going out with a whimper instead of a Big Bang is painfully sad. Oh well, at least Halo 3 doesn't appear to disappoint in that regard.

Damn... when the trailer opens up into windows media player, the player tells me it can't play it because either the server is too busy or I haven't got enough memory.

... Off to delete all my porn then...

An aged Batman worked.

An aged Punisher works (the guy is pushing 60, and the art in Punisher MAX shows it).

Why not an aged Snake? I frikkin' love the idea!

We knew right from MGS 1 that Snake ages faster than normal. In this new game, we see the results of this. You would actually rather that Snake stays the same age, with the same beard, like some cartoon character.

This IS Snake's last game, and from the trailer this has the potential to be his swan song. The age thing adds to his character. The whole grumpy man thing he does times 2, age being a hurdle for him to overcome.

The man is the perfect soldier. He was born that way. You really think he couldn't keep in peak physical shape just because he's old? I'd like to think that a perfect soldier can.

Look at Vince McMahon from WWE!! What age is that guy?? Still in peak physical shape, still wrestling.

just keep pressing play again after the warning message it'll work eventually. then it'll probably keep buffering quite often.

Another thing. Which of the following do you think is more true of Snake...

The degenerative genes catch up with him, and all of a sudden he's an old man. Snake gives up, and just lays in bed all day.

The degenerative genes catch up with him, and all of a sudden he's an old man. Snake continues to fight on, because he's just a badass like that.

Snake beat his genetically superior brother. Snake beat his genetic fate. Snake always overcomes incredible odds. He keeps fighting no matter what!! He FINDS a way!! That's the type of character he is.

Why do you think Snake would give up just 'cause he's old?

I wish I could say the same. Black Hawk Down has one of the most kickass scores ever. I listen to it very often while in my car. But this was nothing like it. It was just some dumb broad wailing on the mic with Japanese strings, while Black Hawk Down had a purely Middle-Eastern flair with a little bit of traditional Hans Zimmer and excellent electronica thrown in the mix for good measure. Let's hope they sign Harry Gregson-Williams to compose the full score for the game like they did with MGS2. Else MGS4 will lose nearly half of it's cinematic punch if the music stays this way.

NAh, Gregson-William's stuff sounds like typical Hollywood blockbuster stuff. They need to bring in the japanese composer from 1, bring back that dreary, desolate feeling.

Oh and the score from MGS1 didn't sound like "typical Hollywood blockbuster stuff"? It's even more generic than HGW's music.

Harry Gregson-Williams was the best thing to happen to the franchise since, well...Kojima himself.

Yeah, a tired old man putting a gun in his mouth looking ready to pull the trigger to "end it all" sure sounds a lot like the Solid Snake we've come to know and love - real determination and resolve on part of our hero. Truly badass, isn't he?

Suicide is the lowest form of cowardice and the Solid Snake you're talking about would rather die in battle than even think of popping a cap in his own ass.

Couldn't care less about The Punisher.

Your loss.

The idea of an aged Snake can also work with a Snake who actually looks like he can lift a gun.

Snake looks in excellent condition to me. The guy is ripped! Because he's got wrinkles means he's not fit enough to lift a gun?

Don't you think it would have been a cop out if they made Snake look, say, late 40s instead of very old and haggered as he looks in the trailer? He has degenerative genes!!

Just because he's old means he's gonna go out with a whimper? I just love that logic.

At what point did I say WWE was real? All I said was that Vince McMahon is damn old, in his late 50s maybe early 60s, he's in INCREDIBLE shape, and is still fit enough to wrestle. Everyone knows wrestling is fake, but you'd have to be an idiot to deny that wrestling every night of the week, sometimes two or three times, takes alot of physical fitness. Sure, Vince doesn't wrestle THAT much, but he's still fit enough to wrestle in PPV matches. Most other guys his age would be out of breath by the time they got to the ring.

Look at how negatively people are reacting to you, Phaser. It's because you complain too god damn much. No one likes a nitpicker.

Way to prejudge the story. Congradulations for being psychic. I think it's a little implied from the trailer that Snake considers killing himself for the greater good. Maybe he has some sorta disease or something? I don't know. What I do know is that you are judging that scene way too much with not enough info.

I'm a huge fan of the metal gear series and I agree with phaser on some points but the game looks like a drastic departure from its roots. I really hope this game turn out to be a classic. Graphics look great, Raiden looks ugly as
f uck and its 1 thing to make snake look old but to bestow upon him a crippled look is unfair but we'll see.

Damn trying to see the trailer off the Kojima website but the server is either is busy or isn't up.

Anyway, the shortened version is freaking amazing. Glad to see the characters returning. Loving the fact that Snake is finally starting to show age and the sense of desperation in this game is going to be awesome.

Seriously though, Kojima has a way of twisting things around so I'm sure that everything isn't as it seems. Can't even begin to imagine how amazing the finished version is going to look.

i'm tired of hearing how Snake is too old to be fighting in the field. my dad just turned 63 and he just got done building a 30 x 10 foot extension for our house (which is now the den) by himself (with 1 or 2 days worth of my help) in less than 2 months...

....don't give me this bull$#!+ about how Snake is too old to fight for something he's deeply involved in, considering he SHOULD be in better shape than my old man (with sever back problems) who's smoked a pack and a half a day since he was 13.

But did he have people shooting at him while he was building?

Because that would have been cool

well he had my mom shooting obscenities from her mouth if that counts *shrug*

Orchestrated crap. No wonder half-wits like you think it is real.

I could care less about MGS, but I have to step in here.

People who think wrestling fans think it's real are way more out of touch with reality than wrestling fans could ever be. We know it's pre determined...so what? You watch movies, and you MUST know that's scripted , right? It's no different. And if you don't think there's real athletisism and risks involved, it just goes to show you know NOTHING about it, and aren't qualified to talk.

His point was McMahon is in awesome shape for a 60 year old, and he is. Hell is awesome shape for ANY age, and unless you look like he does at 60 NOW, which I doubt, you have no room to talk.

Let's face it, you like comics and videogames. Not exactly the most realistic mediums on the planet, unless you somehow think that Batman is the chronicals of a real detective and that Solid Snake is a real, living agent.

you acutally used vince mcmahon as an example of a guy who kicks ass even though hes old? Have you seen a vince mcmahon match? He gets his assed whopped most of the time. You want a realistic idea of what happens when he gets in the ring, watch his match against austin in the st valentines day massacre in 99', or his buried alive match against taker
