Metroid: The Movie

I think Metroid and the Samus Aran character would make for a good silver screen adaptation. I know the track record of video game movies, but with the right director I think it would work.

How would you go about making it and who would you cast as Samus?

wrote a outline for one about a month ago after finishing other M. I think it could be a good story and scarlet would rock. I would like if Adam was there and it focused on her need to keep running from her past and the main plot being one of her finally having to face it on Zebes with the Pirates who killed her family.

I would love a Metroid movie but I've noticed that, after the Super Mario Bros film, Nintendo has a stranglehold on their properties (besides Pokemon of course). Seriously, when's the last time you saw a manga, comic, TV show, or film based on Mario, Zelda, or Metroid?

The only thing that Nintendo allows are, figures, toys and collectables.

I think the OP is forgetting that Samus is supposed to be as tall as she's blond. (see Scarlett Johansson, not sure how tall some of the others are)

Samus is listed as 6'1. I cannot think of one young over 6 foot actress and frankly I dont care that much.
Samus would most likely be in her suit most of the film which could give an actress a height boost and even if not camera tricks could work.

Height doesnt really matter at all.

I don't think the actress' height is all that important when making a film like this since the suit (if made correctly) will make her look imposing regardless of how tall she is. Plus, most of the film will involve her fighting giant monsters that are twice the size of her anyway.

Also, I think Noomi Rapace could be a good choice if she doesn't end up doing the Alien prequel.

It'll never happen thanks to the Super Mario Bros movie but I'd say Katee Sackoff or maybe Amber Heard. She needs to be toned and in shape and most of the photos of the actresses above don't look athletic enough.

Katie Sackhoff would be good, but she seems a little D-list for a potentially big franchise like this. They'd probably want to either snare a big name like Scarlett or an up-and-comer like Amber Heard.

She's not D-List but not A-List either. I'd rather not have a big name taking the role. Neither she nor Heard are big names but they have extensive credits to their names. Someone like Scarlett is just too big a name IMO.
