Wow, I had no idea the guy was battling cancer. I'm a very vocal hater of his artwork and how it has affected the comics industry, but I still feel bad for his family and friends. RIP Michael.
I was always a very big fan of his art and absolutely loved SOULFIRE. I knew he had been battling cancer, but his death still comes as an absolute shock. The comics industry somehow seems less exciting, less interesting now.
I remember his first bought with Cancer when Fathom inexplicably disappeared from the shelves. Although I hadn't read his stuff in a long time, it's sad that he was taken from us long before his time.
Holy **** I can't believe his cancer caught up with him, this is absolutely horrible, i loved all of his work and he made every story i read more colorful and whether you liked his art he brought alot of new artists into the medium. He will greatly missed by this very passionate comic book fan, godspeed Michael.
I'm not going to say I loved his art with passion, but I remember the day when I read fathom or Witchblade because I liked it, I was mad because the issues were always delayed, I did know he had cancer back then. R.I.P Michael Turner
I actually got into his artwork a little late when he did the SUPERMAN/BATMAN arc about the return of Supergirla and then went and gathered up all I could of his stuff.
A very dynamic, exciting style of artwork. His presence will be greatly missed.
I heard about his condition last year and was amazed to see how he was handling it with class, grace and strength.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I was aware of his brave and courageous fight with that God awful cancer and he was a true inspiration. Thank you, Michael.
