A man (Black) whose brain becomes magnetized unintentionally destroys every tape in his friend's video store. In order to satisfy the store's most loyal renter, an aging woman with signs of dementia, the two men set out to remake the lost films, which include Back to the Future, The Lion King, and Robocop.

Written and directed by Michel Gondry (Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine and the Spotless Mind, Dave Chapelle's Block Party) and starring Jack Black, Mos Def, Melonie Diaz, Danny Glover, Mia Farrow, etc.

This looks absolutely amazing! A movie for movie lovers with two of the best comedians around!! :wow:

New trailer just launched: http://www.firstshowing.net/2007/08/08/must-watch-michel-gondrys-be-kind-rewind-trailer/

LMAO! That looked great. I remember hearing about it a while ago and thought it would be stupid but the trailer looked cool.

I haven't even seen the trailer and I already love it.
Jack Black's great and all, but damn, Mos Def has an amazing talent for comedy, IMO. Perfect timing.

Edit: I saw the trailer, bwahahahaha I give it 15 out of 10, 3 thumbs up and a bowl of Frosted Flakes.
I can't wait for this

Mos Def is definately one of the best performers of our time.

Mos Def is definately one of the best performers of our time.

LOL. Hold on there Sparky! He's fine and all, but he ain't the godsend you're speaking of.

He's fantastic. He's an excellent musician, performer, actor, funnyman, and all around nice guy. He was one of the key players in rap and hip hop during the 90s, and for good reason. He was amazing in Something the Lord Made, and is hilarious in things like Chappelle's Show and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I've seen him live in concert performing and acting in the play Topdog Underdog, and he has an undeniable presence and true talent. The man has incredible range and can do everything from singing to dancing to playing the drums to acting to comedy to rapping to playing the piano and I'm sure the list goes on. Like I said, one of the best performers of our time.

Hey, I'm not arguing with the dude's credentials (Although his performance in 16 Blocks grew exceedingly tiresome), but greatest performer of our time is stretching it a bit. The guys got a ways to go before he can earn a title like that.

I thought he was great in 16 Blocks. It's the first film I really knew him from. I use to think he really talked like that.

The Wiz was the worst remake ever.

Haha, I had to watch The Wiz in 2nd grade.
Man, did it suck...

The movie looks really good, btw.
Jack Black and Mos Def is such a random on screen team, but has so much potential.

This looks really hilarious...The Rush Hour remake and Ghostbusters had me rollin.....I really enjoy Mos Def on screen, Jack Black has kinda began to annoy me of late but this looks like a return of old for him..

Can't wait to see this. Should be a lot of fun. Plus, Jack Black in a Michel Gondry film? I was sold by that alone.

This movie looks absolutely hilarious. Great casting. It's going to be a fun movie.

I'm still totally against a Ghostbusters 3 but Jack Black would be perfect for it. :)

^ what he said. and i lost all faith in jack black after pick of destiny. heres to hoping...

I liked Pick of Destiny.. And I'm liking this.
