The Dark Knight Michelle Williams not attending TDK Premiere?

It's so sad that Michelle and Matilda have to deal with this when they're still mourning Heath's death. Hopefully this will be settled and won't have to be brought to court.

But Heath's parents are mourning the loss of their son? Alright I don't know both sides to the story, but from life experiences I've know that most grandparents are the last people that would do anything to harm the grandchildren.

Who knows, I mean maybe the point of view of the story is accurate and Heath's father is being greedy and could careless about Matilda. Or maybe he's trying to set things up legally so that he can ensure that Matilda is the soul benefactor and not just hand it all over to Michelle.

UPDATE: Michelle Williams' rep is denying any sort of rift between her client and Heath Ledger's family.

Mara Buxbaum issued this statement today: "The presumption that Michelle ever intended to attend The Dark Knight premiere is unfounded, but to say she is 'boycotting' due to a rift with Heath's family is absurd. It is time to allow this family to go about their lives without this continued scrutiny and speculation."

a) It's understandable if she doesn't attend. That's her deceased husband on screen.
b) Why is this really important? What is this place, TMZ?

If I were her, I wouldn't either. She'll get mobbed with questions and won't be able to thoroughly enjoy the greatness that is "The Dark Knight."

Not really a big deal.

Apparently the Ledger family will be flown to a private screening before going to the premiere in Heaths place.

‘Dark Knight’ premiere not a Ledger tribute

Contrary to some of the buzz surrounding the New York City premiere of “Dark Knight,” the July 14 event will not serve as a tribute to the late Heath Ledger, nor will Michelle Williams be attending. In fact, the attendance of Ledger’s family isn’t certain, according to a rep for Warner Bros.

In terms of who will be there and the intent of the premiere, Williams’ rep Mara Buxbaum said, “There is misinformation all over the place.” One thing is for certain: Williams was never planning on being at the premiere. “(The premiere) was never on her calendar and she’s not in the movie. This isn’t a press event for her,” said Buxbaum. “She’s not going, there is no reason.”

As for Ledger’s family coming in from Australia, a rep for Warner Bros. said, “We cannot confirm that yet. We’re not even sure they’re coming.” But OK! magazine is reporting that Ledger’s “Brokeback Mountain” co-star Jake Gyllenhaal will join his sister Maggie, who play’s Batman’s love interest Rachel Dawes in “Dark Knight.”

Regarding whether the evening will serve as a tribute, the studio would only say, “We’re treating it like a premiere.”

A rep for Warner Bros. also could not confirm the “tribute” at the end of the film, but one insider does say that “Chris Nolan made the decision that as the screen credits roll, there is a tribute to Heath.”
