Doesn't final cut mean that a movie is ready, effects and everything? They had concluded production in December 2022, anyway. That's a whole year of post production before he had submitted his cut to WB, last November. Dune is extremely VFX heavy and it needed a year of post and this thing needs two? I don't know, the whole thing is baffling, especially if what Ho says is true.

Oh, its def weird as hell. I don't refute that. I imagine final cut is purely about the cut itself as far as what makes the film and what's on the cutting room floor, then they send it to VFX artists, but like you said, it was in post for a year, so I honestly don't know. I don't have reason to believe Ho isn't telling the truth either tho.

It could be possible that the January release is because execs aren't entirely happy with it but that's just internet rumblings centered around traditional Hollywood notions. Marketing and competition around a film feels more important than which month its in nowadays.

I've had this book on my shelf for quite a while, but after seeing this trailer I got motivated enough to finally pick it up. It was quite fun, and this movie also looks like fun. I am definitely gonna try to catch this in the theaters.
