I was curious, we know the movie is title The Dark Knight, so I wonder if this means we'll actually hear him referred to by that name in the film. I mean, even in the comics he's rarely actually called that by others. It might be in a descriptive text box, something like "And as the Dark Knight turn around..." but he's very rarley actually called that by other characters.

If so, how should they do it? Perhaps on the news, or maybe Joker gives him the nickname. What are your thoughts?

Thats a good question. FYI Mask of the Phantasm did not use the word Phantasm at all in the movie.

I'd prefer it just be the title. Who'd call him the dark knight anyway? And why? I can't think of someone calling him that and it not being cheesy.

the only one I see saying it, and in jest, is Alfred. Or even Joker...

'Dark Knight Strikes Again' could be used as a newspaper headline with a picture underneath of some beaten-up thugs.

It should be said by Gordon near the end of the film.

Dark knight sounds too cheesy when you say it. I think the most fitting way to introduce it in the film is through a newspaper headline since they are typically cheesed up anyway.

The Gotham Globe newspaper should give him that name.

This also goes with the idea of who will name the character in the film. Batman named himself BATMAN when he first set out on a mission as Batman and took out Falcone's mob.

Nah... I don't want batman to be called Dark Knight in some scenes, it just doesn't work.

I think it would be better headline in newspaper.

The Dark Knight is going to be much more likely of a referral to Batman from the media in Gotham City. I could see Gotham's newspapers headling the phrase: THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN.

That's it. The Joker will be the one to say it.

"THANK YOU Everyone!!!"

There is a scene in BB where Commisioner Loeb confronts the rest of the Gotham police force about Batman's takedown of Carmine Falcone. Loeb holds up a newspaper that refers to the incident, I don't quite remember what the headline may have said, but the press could name him The Dark Knight.

Pretty much what everyone else said:

Newspaper Headline
News Headline
News Ancor
The Joker
Alfred

Just the title. Press creating names has been done way too many times.

"Bat Serves Up Crime Boss".

I only really wanna see TDK in either a news report or newspaper headline. I can't imagine it being said by ANY person, it really does sound corny. It's a title best fit for text-only, and not speech.

A nosey reporter from Gotham's newsmedia will have an assigned project on Batman and give him the name The Dark Knight. It would be a like Knox from Burton's BATMAN. I really don't see it happening this way though.

Let's just have J J Jameson doing it. He always does it anyways.

Honestly, I'd rather him be an urban legend than have a bunch of media coverage.

Its kinda hard to be an urban legend when a big giant bat is out in the night taken it hardcore to the criminal type and reducing the crime rate.

Yeah, but few people have seen him, and even fewer have proof that he exists. And if people do, they don't show it.

I think the "urban legend" thing stems more from the fact that he has never been seen or photographed, so it's questionable who/what he is.

Quite true. But there would be speculation from press and the police force of what it is that is out there and sooner or later a photograph would surface, may not be the best picture, but it would give them an idea.
