It's not jumping to conclusions, it's making entirely valid inferences from the author's own statements. There's nothing smart about actively ignoring and misunderstanding the obvious of a statement. Paris Hilton is well-known for a particular set of traits and behaviors, and if Millar doesn't intend to portray Johnny in such a way then he, y'know, shouldn't be using her as his point of comparison.
