IP is huge so the BO response isn't a surprise. Movie was whatever.

Went to see this with my Gen Z niblings in a packed theater. Mix of young ones and "old farts" like myself who played this back in 2011.

I'm getting old.

I don’t think anyone predicted this big. The highest I saw before it opened was 80M.

Normally this seems like the kind of thing that would be really frontloaded and taper off afterwards in a more crowded time, but as a family movie geared towards younger kids it literally has no competition for the rest of the month and nearly all of May until Lilo & Stitch comes out (I don't think many kids under 10 will care much about Thunderbolts). This is probably staying in the top three for the next month or so.

From the videos I've seen, most of the mf'ers causing trouble looked like they were over the age of 18 so I don't know how much that'll help.

What pisses me off is seeing thousands of likes for comments like "Fun police" on videos that had theater managers stepping in to discipline them. Clapping and cheering is one thing but throwing popcorn and running up and down the aisles, assaulting theater employees, etc. is completely out of line.

I don't intend on seeing this as I have no interest in Minecraft. And this is no slant on Jack Black but Matt Berry being in anything instantly makes it 10x better
