In a world where developers add the power to fly or something onto an FPS then stick it in stores... here comes another one. Mirror's Edge however, is a beautiful looking game from Dice (how did a good game I played recently... but can't remember what), that deals with huge freedom and jumping mechanics etc. From the look of these first 2 screen shots, it's going to be pretty good.

Looks.....bright....

Doesn't dice do Battlefield?

Yeah, Dice are the Battlefield games guys.

About the game...looks freaking hot, amazing graphics, but, until more info......

Judging from that Asian girl on the bottom left corner, I can only say "BEST GAME EVER".

Finally, I have faith in you again.

I was wondering where Blas went. I miss mastur.....looking at those girls in the pictures....

I've always though that people who were like "OMG Camera movement in an FPS to realistically represent your characters perspective sucks!" suck. So I'm really forward to Mirror's Edge, the whole 'realism in FP perspective' idea just hasn't been done right yet, and I can't wait for when it is.

We think along the same lines. Excellent news.

Yeah, this one came outta nowhere for me. One reason why I loved the COD franchise is because the first person perspective actually felt like the movements were being performed, unlike most shooters where the view is smooth and steady.

This game looks to take that even further. My only disappointment is the light focus on gunplay. I would have liked the player be given a choice in how to defeat the enemies. But that's a small quibble. From what I've seen, this truly looks like an immersive game that at that very least is worth a rent.

It just looks like a more realistic approach to gunplay. She can't carry a whole arsenal around with her at all times, and has to take a gun to use it. I kind of like that idea.

i look forward to this, like assassins creed on acid.

Well I do like the idea that ammo is sparse, so weapons would have to be regularly disposed of. In the next-gen scheme of things, I always found it funny that you could almost never run out of ammo in an FPS game. No matter where you were.

However, I'm a FPS gamer at heart, and I love pulling the trigger. So if there was a way to mix that realism aspect, with a shoot 'em up, that'd be a dream come true.

I always thought that a cool idea would be to use this engine, and make a FPS sports game, like football, or basketball.

I've been a fan of this game ever since I read the article on Next-gen.biz a year ago and after seeing the first trailer at Sony Gamers Day, I fell completely in love and now... SPEECHLESS!

Anyone going to get this? I actually just heard about it this week from the E3 footage, but its coming out this fall. The running and jumping kind of reminds me of Assasins Creed and that was the best part of that game. The graphics and artistic style look really good. My only issue with it is that its first person and just looking at the clips almost made me dizzy so I can imagine how it is to play it. But so far things look good. I'm going to wait to see more of it

Heres a link to clips of the E3 demo and trailer: http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/949/949457/vids_1.html

my bad. I just saw that this already had a thread that I missed. Mods please merge

It's ok, my thread didn't have cool pictures.

During one of the E3 interviews they asked the developers about the whole vertigo thing. And they worked a lot on the right balance to make sure it doesn't make anyone sick. There is a small dot in the center of the screen which won't shake around, so you're supposed to focus on that dot to help from getting all woozy.

The game does look awesome though.

Well, I'm a MK and Fallout fan but Mirror's Edge is the best game of E3 IMO. Stunning, innovative and fun.
