Missed opportunity (for those who saw DEPARTED)

Has anyone seen The Departed yet? I saw it last night at midnight. Well, anyway, the scene in which Jack gives the kid a Wolverine comic book was such a missed opportunity. He should have given him a Batman comic book with Joker on the cover.

Oh, and in case I haven't said this enough, The Departed was ****ing incredible. Everyone must see it.

Cause it would have been cool. Besides why is Jack giving him a Wolverine comic? This is a WB movie. Why are they promoting Marvel?

It would have been a mistake. It would have taken the audience "out of the moment" and reminded everyone that Jack had played "Someone Else in Another Movie", which you don't want to do. You want people to get into the belief that he's the person he's playing at that moment. Scorsese has more smarts that that.
