Between Hayley Atwell & Rachel Brosnahan, SUCH LOVELY LADIES THIS YEAR!

As insanely riveting as this looks, this allusion to him tapping into the Entity and possibly reliving the past films feels like they may have hit a wall narratively. Idk how it's gonna play, but it's a funny route.

Has this been confirmed?

I assumed he would find and disable the entity or at least sever it's connection to the internet.

No, not confirmed. Just going off of the trailer. But it could just be a trailer trick as well.

The past films' montage has nothing to do with the Entity and it's already been shown in the first clip from the film (Nick Offerman on Jimmy Kimmel).

Looks like they just show the past films' events during the security briefing from the trailer within the actual film, simply to remind the general audience of what Ethan went through. Think of it as a short re-cap to those who haven't done a recent marathon to re-watch the past films.

What the Entity will likely show Ethan, are potential future scenarios if he fails his mission (e.g the London nuking from Trailer 2, as well as the added Tower Bridge shot in the new IMAX trailer from yesterday). Potential scenarios of his team members dying as well.

I'm hoping to see it the weekend it comes out here. It'll be great to see how they decide to bring closure to the series.

I'm watching Final Destination this Saturday (May 17), then Mission Impossible the next day (May 18). I only found out today, that its being released earlier in other countries.

Early reactions not great.
I wouldn't say that.
From what I've been reading, it carries some of the problems from Dead Reckoning early on but it makes up for it with action and suspense. The reactions lean towards the positive for sure.

Not that I've been specifically looking, but I've not seen anything negative towards this yet.

Nor have I. theyre mostly good. A lot of them are saying the first act is exposition heavy but once it gets going its an epic thrill ride.

That's more or less what I've been seeing. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that a lot of the criticism will probably be aimed at the long runtime. I've been seeing a few reactions that say it drags in the middle.

I've seen a lot of mixed reception around. Most leaning more on the disappointment side with criticism being levied at the first half being kind of boring because of a complicated/nonsensical plot, a lot of important references to the previous films, and lack of overall action. Though, everything I've read also says that the two standout sequences are pitch perfect.

So, sounds like a McQ Mission film to me.

Yeah what a McQ M:I is at this point isn't a surprise.

I like that theory. Shows us something that ultimately tells us,NOTHING!
