I don't know if this has been discussed yet and correct me if I'm wrong, but in the beginning of the movie it said they were in Budapest right? Later in the movie, they kept saying Ethan had escaped from a Russian prison. Now Budapest is the capital of Hungary and even though is close to Russia they're still considered to be two separate things.

Hah, I didn't catch that either! Oops! :funny:

I was also :cmad: that they kept on using Verdana for those location cards. [/graphic design nerd]

yeah,
they are stopping him and his henchmen personally. but there is no talk like in MI3 where you
have the scene on the airplane and the stuff at the end where davian is taunting ethan.
Thats normally the case in every thriller or something from this genre, thats why i wondered..
In this ethan just gets to him at the end , they fight and thats it.
if i'm remembering correctly they dont talk one word to
each other, other than one "hello", where both dont know who the other guy is.

On the other hand i wouldnt know how to construct it, because he´s he pretty straight forward villian
and not very twisted. And he has not really much screentime overall ..
The movie is really about ethans team and the tasks they encounter.
Which is fine and works.. and it doesnt drift into the Tom-Cruise-Show.. every character gets his moments.
Well Ethan also mentions near the beginning that the bad guy is [blackout]mentally unhinged[/blackout], so it's likely there wasn't a point where he could talk some sense into him or come to an understanding.

Well, and Ethan does tell him more than "Hello" but it was a threat, not anything more. :funny:

man, Ethan climbing the building in Dubai was ridiculous in IMAX. My theater clapped after that sequence was over. So much suspense.

Thought the movie was so much fun. Excellent job by Brad Bird.
It was HILARIOUS when Pegg's like, "Your line is too short!" and Cruise yells back, [blackout]"NO S***!"[/blackout] :lmao:

I thought the beginning was ridiculously fun as well, especially with the back-and-forth (as it were) between Pegg and Cruise. :funny:

All in all I felt like it was just like watching a live-action Incredibles, without the political connotations. :oldrazz: Just the fun stuff.

Budapest is where
the guy from Lost got killed by the blonde
The scene shifted to russia afterwards

Ah, you are right! I had forgotten about that, so thanks for clearing that up.

This was easily my favorite film of the series. Brad Bird was born to direct action movies.

It was a very good movie. I mainly went to see TDKR prologue but I'm glad this turned out to be very good, and I also think this one is the better one out of the three. The IMAX sequences were awesome!

i laughed so hard when [BLACKOUT]he climbs up with only one glove on and then suddenly the other glove is in front of him.. then it fails and flies away.. that was priceless[/BLACKOUT] :D

So, they separated the character into two: Michelle Monaghan's Julia and Leah Quint, who was going to be played by Carrie Ann-Moss, but ended up being cut from the movie altogether.

I never heard that before. Interesting. I never really liked Thandie Newton's character as a romantic interest for Ethan, so really, I didn't miss her much. They just seemed like a very weird match.

So, for those who've seen it now, is "Julia" mentioned in this new movie? Because it would kinda bug me if they don't even toss out a reference to Ethan's WIFE, y'know?

Yes.

I loved when Ethan yelled "MISSION ACOMPISHED!!!"

And then discussed how ******ed it was...haha.

There's a reference and more
She also has a cameo

I'm glad they didn't go the route they, for all intensive purposes, should've. Thank you Brad Bird.

I really really really hope that when they release the movie on Blu-Ray that it will include the IMAX sequences where the aspect ration changes from 2:35:1 to 1:85:1. I loved it.

Similar to what Michael Bay did with Transformers 2 Big Screen Bluray edition (Walmart exclusive)

Any news or is it toooooooooooo early.

Oh damn, I loved this movie. I've seen it twice in 24 hours.

I went out of my way to see it in IMAX and it was breaktaking! I've seen it twice and I could see it again if I had the chance! It's definitely on my top 10 of the year right now.

Brad Bird silenced all of those on the fence about him and I can't wait to see what he'll do next.

I need to see a big action film so I'm going to see this when it goes wide. I just couldn't bring myself to see Sherlock Holmes after the annoying first film.

You won't be disappointed. The action in this movie is freakin awesome. Not too mention just about everything else is great. I was a bit disappointed in the villains but this movie was never about the villains its all about Ethan and his team and secondly, Jeremy Renner is not very good in this movie, he seems like he just doesn't care which is disappointing because the other 3 are really good and fun to watch. Brad Bird needs to direct more action movies immediately but of course he needs to do Incredibles 2 first.

It is sooo much fun, you should definitely see it on the big screen. I saw it midnight IMAX and the IMAX is worth it, although the effect is less emotionally gripping than TDK because M:I4 is so light. The overhead shot of the Burj Khalifa is  :wow: though! That's one shot that made my jaw drop.

I actually liked Renner a lot, he was just the straight-laced guy thrown with the team suddenly and hadn't gotten into their rhythm. :funny: He got funnier and more relaxed as the movie went on.

"Next time, I get to be the one who seduces the rich guy!" :funny:

OMG Simon Pegg. :lmao: He makes any movie!

It was interesting I was browsing fandango theaters in my area and most of them weren't showing this movie...mostly Sherlock

Great movie, really impressed with Brad Birds first action movie.

Just came back from seeing it and I loved it, great action movie and definitely the best Mission Impossible movie so far.
