Looks like something Baldwin's character on 30 Rock would have done.

Yeah I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.
I know you can probably hold your breath under water than above water. But I think the average above water is 40 second?
But Cruise can do it for 6 to 6 1/2 minutes?![]()
world record for just holding your breath under water without moving is 11 minutes 35seconds. now moving your body while doing that is another level..
it really depends on what he does while he holds his breath..
Sounds awesome. and McQuarrie said there are score-free sequences in this. I think the underwater scene is one of them. which will be suspenseful as hell. can't wait!ah ok, pretty insane. i just noticed that there two kinds of records.
the one in your video is someone who is allowed to breath pure oxygen up to 30 minutes before he starts holding his breath.
So he has almost non carbon dioxide left in his lungs but 5 times the amount of oxygen.
The record I found the person wasnt allowed to do that. And its actually 11:54.
should've looked at wiki from the starthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Static_apnea
So maybe they let cruise breath pure oxygen beforehand.
I love how slick the bike chase looks, the direction is fluid, and that underwater infiltration looks incredible, like a sister sequence to the iconic CIA headquarters infiltration in the first film.[YT]Y7coUwTU-Ms[/YT]
