Also is it just me, are we getting a lot of great spy films lately? Kingsman was fantastic, I've heard good things about Spy, and this, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Spectre all look really good.

But Cruise can do it for 6 to 6 1/2 minutes?

ah ok, pretty insane. i just noticed that there two kinds of records.

the one in your video is someone who is allowed to breath pure oxygen up to 30 minutes before he starts holding his breath.
So he has almost non carbon dioxide left in his lungs but 5 times the amount of oxygen.

The record I found the person wasnt allowed to do that. And its actually 11:54.

So maybe they let cruise breath pure oxygen beforehand.

Sounds awesome. and McQuarrie said there are score-free sequences in this. I think the underwater scene is one of them. which will be suspenseful as hell. can't wait!

I love how slick the bike chase looks, the direction is fluid, and that underwater infiltration looks incredible, like a sister sequence to the iconic CIA headquarters infiltration in the first film.

Anyway so Director Baldwin is seriously going with this line of argument. "There is no Syndicate, it was the IMF doing it all." Because it's not like we saw in the VERY LAST movie that it's pretty easy for villains to frame the IMF for stuff or anything.

What are the odds that he ends up being:

-Evil.
-Corrupt.
-Incompetent.
-Some unholy combination of the three.

I love that sliding bit. In all likelihood it was a goof up on Tom's part and they kept that in. He has a few moments like that in his movies.

I love how McQuarrie said that they were gonna try and bring back a more old school vibe to things, and with some of the interesting gadgets and the motorcycle chase that harkens back to MI2, it definitely feels that way.

But this motorcycle chase looks way better than MI2, which was pretty impressive nonetheless. (Though not Woo's best work) I was adamant about McQuarrie, especially after how Brad Bird knocked it out of the park with MI4, but I'm excited.

I only wish they got Paula Patton or Maggie Q back. Preferably Maggie Q. Oh well, maybe next film.
