Forget all of em. Rebecca Ferguson IS the lady of this franchise. She's stunning and badass at the same time. Hope[BLACKOUT] we will see her in the future installment.[/BLACKOUT]

She also takes off her high heels before her action beats. Hey, you know, Jurassic World...take some freaking notes

Dumb post is dumb.

Anyways, looking forward to this. Gonna try and catch it tomorrow sometime.

What exactly makes this dumb? I mean I know she wasn't running from a T-Rex, but I am sure the trained killer probably has a better chance in heels then the amusement park runner. :funny:

Went to see it today and loved it. I didn't expect the plane stunt to kick us off expected it in the middle of the movie or something.

Oh Rebecca Ferguson aint No Bryce Dallas Howard. If a woman can't run in heels she aint no woman.

"If a woman aint stupidly impractical in a life or death situation, the she aint no real woman." But seriously, well-done with that little detail MI5.

Maggie Q's show Stalker was cancelled so she will probably be available.

Paula Patton returning might depend on if her show the Runner is picked up by ABC.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jonathan Rhys Meyers return as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing Laurence Fishburne and Sir Anthony Hopkins come back as well. Tom Wilkinson has an excuse of, well his character being dead and all.

The last scene of Ghost Protocol set up this movie with Ethan being informed of the Syndicate. Would've liked RN to set up MI6.

Oh so that was the "new case" that he got in that final scene, nice bit of continuity there. Also:

-Is Paula Patton's character's absence referenced/explained at all in the film?
-Is Ethan's wife mentioned/referenced at all.

Nope to both questions.

Oh, well that's disappointing. But oh well I guess (I wasn't actually expecting them to be anyway).

The chicks in these things are like the Bond series, interchangeable.

Almost the entire team has been interchangeable before this one. This is the first time we've had so many members from the previous film in the new one. Usually its just Ethan and Luther but slowly Benji has become a mainstay and now Brandt.

If they change female characters after this, then I'd say the female characters in particular are interchangeable.

I am seeing Rogue Nation on Sunday, but it was this week I realized that I had never seen 3 or GR. I decided to watch the prior 4 before Sunday. I just got through 3. Really enjoyed that movie. I am going to watch GR on Satruday night.

You mean GP (Ghost Protocol)? It's the best of them imo (haven't seen RN yet).
And ironically, it has by far the weakest villain (which shows you just how great everything else was).

I mean if Paula Patton was unavailable than ok whatever. It's just that one of my pet peeves in film/TV shows is the tendency to go "this character who was really important in the last film/season, is now just gone. And we'll make absolutely NO attempt to explain where they went." That's just annoys me to no end as it reeks of laziness. You can take 10-15 seconds to give us a few lines of dialogue explaining why they're not here, it's not that hard.

And in this case it makes even more sense to explain it given that they're building up The Syndicate as being the "ultimate threat." So logically you'd want all hands on deck.

Saw it. Haven't decided if its better than Ghost Protocol. Rebecca Furguson is, aside from Paula Patton and Angelina Jolie, probably one of the most convincing female action leads out there.

Heck I knew that she'd probably be good just from the trailer. Her scrambling up that guy like a cat and then breaking his neck with her legs was incredibly badass.

Really enjoyed this, a solid, slick, well put together summer action film. Everyone was on good form and all the action set pieces were a visual treat, Ferguson stole the show but there were no weak links and Cruise showed his star quality throughout, they worked so well together as a team it would be great to see them pair up again.

Liked this more than GP and is arguably the best in the series (the first one was my top dog probably) with its added visual flair.

Cant think of too much that was wrong with it, maybe the plot wasnt the most original but who cares when its this much fun really, certainly the best film of the summer for me and the best I have seen for a while.

8.5/10

It's actually a smart post. It points out how a smart woman does smart things when she is forced to run and fight for her life.

A trained killer would know not to run away from a t-rex in high heels and to take them off first.

Or change into a more appropriate pair of shoes to begin with.

Just got back, and I friggin' loved it. Finally something other than Mad Max delivers above and beyond expectations this summer.

Cruise was great as always, and between Edge of Tomorrow and this, Chris McQuarrie's becoming my go-to guy for strong female action heroes. Welcome to my radar, Rebecca Ferguson! I had heard about her performance in the White Queen, been meaning to watch it, but now I must because she was awesome in this movie.

And speaking of McQuarrie, I was a fan of his work before, but at this point I think it's safe to say he's one of my faves. Cannot wait to see this again.

Damn, I'm glad to hear you liked it. Now I'm even more pumped for tomorrow.

:D Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I forgot to mention, in case it wasn't clear from my previous post - this is easily the best of the franchise, imo. I absolutely adored Ghost Protocol, but this one has all the same elements I loved about that one (the team dynamic, sense of fun and awesomely directed action), and then on top of that, adds what GP was sorely lacking - a good villain and smart script. It's just a natural evolution from that one, basically.
