Do you laugh at times when you're supposed to feel sad or cry?

Moments when you KNOW you're supposed to feel sympathy, but break into fits of uncontrollable laughter instead?

I laugh when I'm scared or disgusted by something. Defense mechanism.

Everyone deals with situations differently, if someone dies and you feel like smiling don't feel sick it's just you're way of dealing with it...

The other night I watched Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. You know that part where the guy's pumping gas and a bird blindsides him and he drops the pump, leaking gas. I chuckled. :o

Then it got to the part where the guy standing in the gasoline lights his cigar. I was howling at that point. Hell, I LOL'D through the whole darn movie. :csad:

When people fall, my first instinct is to laugh, but it doesn't last long.......then I'm worried if they are hurt. BUT the first thought is to laugh.

I sell cars for a living, I threw my moral barometer out the window a long time ago. I had too, because I used to have a hard time selling someone a Chevy Cobalt for 650 dollars a month.

    Repressing Emotions.

I was physically beaten when I laughed hysterically at Charlotte's death. Poor Wilbur.

I remember cracking jokes about 9/11.
I was pretty scared by it, and needed to way to calm myself down.

I laughed at the Exorcist when that girl was walking down the stairs upside down, that was hilarious.

America's Funniest Videos has pretty much shut down the "moral barometer" of the whole country.

If it weren't for AFV, I probably would feel bad for people falling.

when I was in the 6th grade this girl used to be really *****y to me for no reason, and I knew the girl's mother had passed away, and I thought about saying her mother probably killed herself because of her.:(

Oh definately. Mine is thrown out the window. For one thing I find ******ed people hilarious despite knowing just how wrong it is to feel so. I've tried putting myself in their shoes, I've tried thinking about what if my kid turned out ******ed, but once they start talking it brings tears to my eyes just trying not to chuckle.

That's just one of the tamer examples.
