I saw it this Saturday and just fell in love with it. The CGI was so beautifully done, good story and wonderful voice overs. I can't wait for this on DVD, it kind of had a Goonies feel.
I'm tempted to see it agian :O

I heard it was pretty scary for a PG movie.:p

I'll watch it sometime.

I've heard kids have left out crying.
The kids at my viewing were chilled *shrugs* I can't figure out what spooked those other kids.

The house is freakin' alive.:o

Still, not scary.

It wasn't scary imo, but then again I'm a horror movie freak. I would sum up the movie as a mix of The Goonies, E.T., and Poltergeist. Not really scary but it makes you kind of creeped out at some things if you're a kid.

Obviously it isn't at all scary for adults or the horror movie crowd, but for little kids I could definitely see them being a bit freaked.

Personally, I loved it as well. I guess, technically, it was a pretty simplistic movie, but it had something at its core that really made it click. It sorta seemed to have all little timeless elements you'd want in a family...halloween type of movie, and it greatly benefitted from it.

The surprise of the summer definately, enjoyed it immensly. One of the first CG animated movies that really didn't need to be CG, but made the most of it and I couldn't imagine it being any other way. The House itself was amazing the way it moved and emoted, and it's backstory was really twisted.

It definately had some scary moments in it, that scene while D.J. was sleeping and the shadow of the house creeped into his bedroom and became a hand sent chills down my spine. Not your average 'kids' movie for sure.

One thing that really impressed me about the CGI was that it really didn't "feel" like CGI. It almost seemed like it was claymation.

Damn it,I need to find out where it is in 3-D :(

Yeah, I am dissapointed in myself that I didn't make that extra effort to see it in 3-D.

I think so :(
There was a part when it was introducing the scare zone that I was a bit spooked. Well done :D

But there were some little ones in my viewing that were find, but I didn't really think to scan the crowd for the age of the kids. I was unaware that it was being tag as a too much for kids.

This movie was great! I liked the dream he had of "the red hand", creepy stuff...

Yeah that was the spooky part I was talking about, aces  :)

I saw this movie really wanted to like it bad sadly it wasn't that great. Maybe it was too kiddly for my tastes which is werid. But really I should have excepted this from the guy who created lasor-fart.

It was a great little movie and if anything creeped out the kids, it was probably
the guy's wife
I know anything having to do with her creeped me out.

Monster House was terrific! Saw it twice!

I saw it again last night in 3D very good  worth the effort.

It seems to me the basement scene where the kids come across the toys was homage to Aliens.

Did anyone else get that feel?

I did. This movie surprisingly has a similar feel to the majority of good movies imo.

As I was leaving I heard one of the parents with four kids say it was too much for a kids movie. They were a bit freaked but were able to sit through the whole thing.

It was not too freaky for kids, I don't care what any parent says. The only part that might have been too freaky was the dream/nightmare of the kid sleeping in his room and the shadow becoming the huge scary hand. Other than that, it was nothing scarier than your basic fairytale.
