Saw this blurb on imdb:

"Although numerous characters have been named for Spider-Man 4, Wizard has reported that it may come down to less-of-a-reboot for Sony and more along the lines of a "re-do" of the series by placing it firmly in the "Modern Age" (~1980-current) setting up Venom as the main villain. This was listed in two separate issues in 2009 and 2010. "

?

Who thought this before Wizard thought this???

Me:o

Isn't that the same difference?

Not liking the whole Venom as main villain thing. Green Goblin aka Norman Osborn is Spidey nr 1 arch enemy ffs!! :(

IMDB is the worst place for information. If I see an actual link, I'll believe it.

My grandma has more reliable information than IMDB... and she's dead!

Using any of the villains already used in the previous movies would be a huge mistake. They need to kick start this franchise with a different villain and then perhaps revisit one of the others, as TDK did with the Joker and TwoFace.

Meh to this. How would they get away with Venom anyway? He died in Spidey 3.

They called it Spider-Man 4, and is probably from a while back (I recall some reports of Venom and Carnage in Vanderbuilt's SM4-5 scripts that Raimi and Tobey hated) plus... it's Wizard.

They could’ve done something great with Carnage and Venom in the fourth. Maximum Carnage mixed with Web of Shadows, and you got the perfect film. Put Eddie Brock in jail with the sample of the symbiote accidentally attached to him, have his cellmate be Cletus Kasady, and there you go. Cillian Murphy as Carnage and Jensen Ackles for Brock. For the ending, have Spider-Man and Venom team up to stop Carnage.

A bunch of absolute crock methinks! Too right about imdb releasing inaccurate information! Next!!

Revealing a villain this early? Horseraddish!

Brolly, I love your avvy. I remember that commercial being at the beginning of my VHS copy of Batman. Love it!

If this is basically a Venom trilogy I'll pass. It worked with Goblin, it's not gonna work for Venom after you already butchered and defamed him. The character has no credibility and when overexposed, it can get old rather quickly.

Is it also more of a "Film' than a "Movie?"
