Anyone watch this show, it's in the third season now on F/X. I really like it, it's kinda of like Supersize Me, getting people to immerse themselves in a situation/culture foreign to them for 30 Days.

The season always opens with Spurlock doing something himself, the first season he lived on minimum wage, season two he spent a month in jail and this season he spent a month working in a coal mine. The other two episodes this season has had a former NFL player living in a wheelchair and this week's episode a hunter from South Carolina living with a family of Animal Right's activists.

What I like is that it gets the participants to learn from each other. Most times the person taken out of their comfort zone has strong opinions against the subject he's going to immerse himself in, but living with that family for 30 Days and being immersed in the culture, while they may still not agree fully with it, they gain a new perspective. You also get to learn a lot as Spurlock will give you facts about the industry or lifestyle being profiling. Just think it's a really great show basically a reality show that isn't sensationalized and tries to educate people and wondered if anyone watched it.

How are the dvds if they released them yet?

Yeah, love the show. Been watching since last season.

I love this show, I look forward to this weeks episode. That mom looks crazy.

It is a great documentary show that shows valid viewpoints from both sides of the topic that week. And it's very entertaining.

Last night's episode was kinda weird and showed what's wrong with some Christian's thought process (and the main reason I don't go to church). So the gay guy's are great parents and providing a much better life for these kids than if they were in foster care. However, she can't support/accept a family with two moms or dads because the bible says it's wrong.

It's just how stubborn she was about the core of the issue and being so worried that if she actually accepted these two men as good parents she'd be turning her back on God that really got me. It's like she agreed with everything, but couldn't bring herself to say it, in my mind she was the very definition of homophobia, just scared to death of the very idea of a gay couple.

The real sad part is it all comes from the church too, this organization that teaches love and compassion, but also teaches such intolerance. It's why I stopped going to church, just the intolerance it teaches. I'm not gay, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it and I think they deserve equal everything and the church is the biggest roadblock to them having those equal rights.

I missed the episode. Anyone know when there are reruns?

They rerun at least a few times during the week, I know there's a rerun tonight.
Thanks

I think her main problem is that she wouldn't admit that she is against gay people. No where in the bible does it say a child needs a man and a woman as parents, So that part of her problem was not "against her moral fiber". I think she is just against gay people in general and was trying to hide it behind a transparent other problem.

What about kids who's mom or dad is killed? How can they be raised properly if this woman says you need a man and a woman to raise a child. It was ridiculous and she was a complete idiot, and a jerk to everyone when they were talking very politely to her (That old lady on the deck). And she kept saying "I admire and approve of your want to live this lifestyle and have these rights, but I am against everything you are doing" She made no sense.

Not to mention that woman Morgan talked to, who's dad was gay and it ruined her life. That was an example of a horrible father, not a horrible gay father. He brought her to sex shops and talked about sex at the dinner table, that has nothing to do with him being gay and everything to do with him being an *******.
Absolutely agree, the lady was a psycho :o

I couldn't even watch the entire episode. I knew the lady was an idiot the instant she said she was "arguing this based on a gut feeling", and she admitted she knew nothing about the specifics of foster care and child services. Well hey! These guys DO know the specifics of it, and have a general knowledge of all it's workings. So, maybe you should listen to them before arguing with your ignorance lady. I almost turned the tv off when she almost implied she'd rather foster kids grow out of the foster system without ever getting a parent, before they get a gay couple. Then I did when she said she didn't like the fact that America was getting "more and more free", and that she didn't like the idea of kids getting the idea that it's okay to do these things.

I've seen the jail and illegal immigrant episodes. I loved 'em both.

What killed me is that the woman took everything so personally, and held this stance that gay adoption was a threat to her morality or way of life, when that's just total crap. And I agree, she didn't want to admit to being against gays in general, but that's clearly how she felt. She didn't believe that they deserved the same rights as her, as a god-fearing, heterosexual individual. What does she think about the time when women in general didn't have many rights? Does this woman even realize how good she's got it?!? Watching her, she seems to honestly believe that if gays can marry and adopt children, it'll threaten heterosexual relationships, as if they'll disappear off the face of the Earth.

And the overall hypocrisy of her "moral stance" was just infuriating. Because she tries to rationalize it from a biological standpoint at one point in the episode, talking about how God creating women to be able to give birth, so that's why two men shouldn't be able to raise children. So what about lesbians? Why shouldn't they have children if they can get pregnant? And if they have to adopt to have children, how is that any different from straight people who adopt to have children? And keep in mind, this Christian woman was adopted, herself!! And after everything, she's acknowledging that the gay couple appear to be great parents, one of the children's birth relatives even support the gay couple, including the devout Catholic!! But she still doesn't believe gays should be allowed to adopt?!? WHAT THE HELL??!?!

I know. It seems pretty ridiculous. Especially considering the bible never says a gay couple can't have children. In Lev. it says man should never sleep with another man, but ironically it never says anything about woman on woman, or gays in general. I'll also point out that the bible says everyone sins. So, if you think gay people shouldn't have children because you think it's a sin, does she also believe ocassional liars shouldn't have children? Does she also believe people with bad relationships with their parents shouldn't have children? (The bible says thou shalt honor thy mother and father.) Does she believe non-believers shouldn't have children? (Remember, God said you shall worship no one except himself, and that if you don't believe in him, you're going to hell.) Not to mention Lev. mentions that oral sex and anal sex is bad regardless of the gender doing that. And seeing as most of the couples on the entire planet do practice that type of sexual act regardless of gender, does this lady think most of the couples on the entire planet deserve no rights to be parents? It just doesn't make sense to me why gay people are always singled out by people like her.

edit for spelling errors.

This week's episode was much better, liked that both sides learned to see the other's point of view. Also the girl trying to get the kid to be interested in going to college was really cool.

I can't believe there's a college where they let students bring guns to school.

My DVR didn't record that episode for whatever reason.:csad::cmad:

When will it repeat?
