    Happy Valentine's Day, Guest!

Mortal Kombat 1

Not related to the upcoming game, but I thought it was pretty interesting:

Personally speaking, I don't like several rounds of paid DLCs. Even free DLCs, I don't feel enthusiastic about them. There's good in expanding a game by extending the experience, a bit longer. But if I've already played the base game, I don't want to go back to it after several months, just to play an additional chapter, that can be done in 2 to 3 days. I would rather prefer if they move on to the sequel as soon as possible.

So I also don't like we are going to wait years for Street Fighter 7, and have a dozens of dlc characters for SF6 pop up for years to come.

Because MK outsells Injustice. Zas wants them making MK.

Also, didn't they imply just in case WB games or Neather Realm is sold, they wouldn't have to worry about licensing rights for DC characters?

When it comes to fighting games, its always a bit tricky with long time support and DLC.
In this case the biggest problem is that they sell the DLC for 40 bucks or what.
A Story DLC in a fighting game just cant be this expensive, no matter what.
Because in the end its just cutscenes and then 7-8 fights or what.
Fighting games aren made for such DLC for such a price imo.

I dont really know what doesnt work in MK1, i just know that im surprisingly uninterested in the game for some reason.
Cant put my finger onto it, but it just doesnt work for me.

By a long mile even from what i gather.
Its not even close, which is crazy since Injustice i think is easier to sell a broader audience.
If they cancel further DLC plans, then its Injustice 3 time...i think Ed Boon already confirmed that the next game after MK1 would be Injustice.

Worse. It was actually $60.

I feel like any roster with more than 25 playable characters, its very easy to lose track of every playable character, and they don't feel special anymore, as there are so many choose from. Plus with this game, you have these Kameos, which are about 12 to 15.

Imo, base game with 20 playable characters then a dlc story extension with new 3 to 6 playable characters. After those, move on to the next game, so they could also get more games in the long run.

60 for the DLC? Are they insane? What is WB doing...why are they messing up everything they touch?
You cant sell a DLC for a fighting game for 60 bucks...not unless you offer at least 20 playable characters and even then its a far stretch.

Yeah, they forced all 6 season 2 characters into the the story DLC. Aftermath only had the 3 new characters.

Fighting games across the board have become over monetized to the point where I don't buy them at launch anymore with Mortal Kombat being the biggest offender. Paying 70 dollars for the ****tiest version of a game doesn't make sense to me when a complete edition will be available in a year.

At least they have stopped the whole "buy a whole new game for new characters" that was the big thing back in the early days.

Yes, just wait for a komplete edition, which I have done with Mortal Kombat X and 11.

There is a new Pink ninja as well, named Floyd I just read about. Sometimes I wonder what is going through the heads of the devs.

Thats a surprise, i thought they cancelled DLC because it didnt sell well?
I also dont see that much Buzz around Mortal Kombat currently, so it comes as a surprise that there might be more.
