Mortal Kombat X

Why would you even want easy fatalities? Half the fun is getting the button input right in the 3 seconds you have to do it.

Because these kids need to get off our lawn.

Yeah, but the other half of the fun is seeing the fatalities. So, 50/50, I guess. I mean, personally, I'd not use it because fatalities have become so easy in modern games anyway (I definitely wouldn't pay for it), but you know, options and all that.

I just checked and I dont see one. Under single player there is

Story
Towers
Single Fight
Test your Luck
Training

ETA: It looks like Towers might be what they are calling it in this game

It's under Towers,Traditional Towers and Klasic

Yea, each character has 2.

No the variations really only switch up your special moves, at least thats the quick and easy explanation. They don't affect the fatalities though.

thanks guys!

just picked my copy up. I'll prob fire it up later tonight and mess around with Training mode first.

I believe Easy Fatalities are one time use.

oh wow, that is so lame. I guess its my misunderstanding bc I thought you gained access to 5 different easy fatalities and then 30 more (I knew the match didnt add up right with the number of characters but I figured DLC was included in that)

If I was playing somebody online and knew they were doing a fatality with like a one button press I'd lose all respect for them.

I don't care about Tanya and am glad I'm not getting the pass

I'm going to ask this in a spoiler tag because it relates to the story:

Why the hell is roster space wasted on Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana when they serve no purpose at all to the story?

I don't know but am glad they're playable and especially the first two

It just seems like a bit of a cop out from NetherRealm in my mind. I don't mind where the story went for those characters but it feels like they are in the game for the sake of it.

it's cause there are people from the fa base that have favorites (character they love to use as go to's ) & they become mad when they Don't see them ithe roster & ask the same question when new characters are added their fave are excluded . Even if the story doesn't involve their faves too much that's all they want to see don't want to hear anything else. there's room for new & old characters in my mind but alot of people only care for what they want to see which can come off a greedy depending on how they say it. there's room for new & old eve if it's limited by certain number by the dev's .

This was an acceptable bridge game I think, a good mix of old and new. NetherRealm needs to let the next gen of fighters drive the series forward from here on in for MK11 and beyond, I think the story does a good job of setting that up. There's still going to be a couple a fan favourites who will be back, but I think NetherRealm have successfully crossed the bridge where they don't have to be as reliant on the old generation of fighters as they once were.

I'm very nostalgic and love the old main people but after every MK game until now and the story in this one,It is time for a new generation to take over at least for the most part.

The old crew can still have minor roles in future game's story.Minor spoiler but people like Scoprion and Sub Zero are given a new direction that can work nicely and their classic ninja suits can be unlockable or dlc

In some ways that's true but in other with people in fan bases you have to keep certai people happy cause they are the most loyal will keep comi back for their faves . where with other people ot so much especially if they're fair weather mind sets. with just new stuff some stuff fall apart faster then you'd like like tv shows too much get rid of the current main characters is costly & isn't always as fresh one/ some might expect so old meets new is a good place to be in. it works for hoses it worked for the tv show stargate SG1 before they let the revolving door of writers wrecked it finally cause those people are in the mind sets of only my stories matter I don't care continuity ETC . (that latter is another animal.)

For now it's ok. we a void head ach's from people that want their faves & we still move forward. yeah it's balancing act.
But it a avoid's alot of problems people like to start.

I actually think people are going to be fairly satisfied with the new gen characters. This feels like a bridging game to ease people into moving beyond the classic MK mythology and in that respect I think it's been highly successful. I'm as big a fan of a classic MK story as anyone and this felt like a very smooth transition. I actually don't think there are going to be too many complaints moving away from the past characters.

The only new character that I doubt will be successful and will return after this game is the big brute and tiny friend.

picked up my copy yesterday afternoon...still sitting in my room unplayed lol cant play with all my stuff boxed up ready to move soon, luckily im so frantically busy with the house stuff I dont even think about playing (I actually forgot all about picking it up after work yesterday lol I remembered when I got home and had to go back out to pick it up) if it wasnt for the impending move I never would of forgot such important things!

As someone who has been terrible at Mortal Kombat (and all fighting games, really) since the first one came out on Sega Genesis, I'm totally cool with it.

I want easy fatalities because. If I beat you online the fact that I press a button to murder the hell out of you doesn't change the fact that I whooped your ass. In fact I'd find that it would be more insult to injury. :)

are fatalities really that hard to pull off? I've never had a problem MK2 and on (MK1 was a different story) paying for easy fatalities just seems extremely absurd to me, what a strange idea

My god Kung Jin is amazing. He is an early new fave. I love his staff style

Agreed.. I feel he's the best new fighter. Granted I didn't mess with Cassie or Eron Black yet.. But dat staff.

Also it tells me to install my Kombat Pack.. But it's already installed.. So I'm confused..

Jin is kool but I like Takeda the best of the new people and then Erron Black. I like Kotal a lot but am very disapointed with him as a ruler in the story
