Mortal Kombat X

I wish Rain was a playable character and I really like old man(bearded) subs

The story is awesome but I hate the ending!

Cassie should not have been the one to fight and defeat Corrupted Shinook,It should have been someone like Raiden and if it had to be a new character then Takeda would have been the best choice.

They teased Raiden dying and it was set up to be an epic thing like Zordon's sacrafice in power rangers to cleanse all evil but the focus goes back to the Cage family and it just ends.

There's a mid credits scene that reveals Raiden did die but somehow his soul gets corrupted like the others. The most interesting thing in the ending or well mid credits scene is that Evil Kitana and Liu Kang are the new rulers of Outworld though and I think that's pretty cool.

I'm okay with Evil Raiden but they should have shown him actually dying and then becoming evil. I would have preferred him dying and being gone for a while like Baraka,Mileena and Quan Chi may end up being.

I like that the new direction is going with new blood though. Cassie,Jaqui,Jin and Takeda are definetly groomed to be the new generation of main characters and new major villains will definetly be D'Vorah,Erron Black and Kotal Khan..who disapointed me at least as ruler

Scorpion and Subs now being allies/friends and respected older ninja clan masters is awesome too

Is the blue Steel Sub Zero costume unlockable in game or do you have to purchase it?

I'm digging the gsme. I'm deff rusty considering I haven't been on MK in some time. I played some matches with some less skilled friends last night and those dudes were making me work for every win. Also could of been Cuz they were using Scorp. Dude seems pretty damn legit.

I think they actually screwed up the ending too.

I actually don't think Cassie earned the right to face Shinnok. It felt like her character really was never as flesh out as it should have been and thus I don't think she was deserving of being the one to go against the final boss. I do think the next gen of fighters were good, however I think there was too much reliance on them being related to previous characters

it's as they say........Blondes have more fun. :o

Even with the disappointing ending and all, would you all still say the story mode is as good as IX?

Also, this is apparently a thing:

EDIT: You can unlock these in the Krypt by the way, just thought it was funny that they were selling that.

I actually think it's better than 9, I just think the ending is sloppy. Just my opinion though.

I enjoyed 9's story but this was much better

Apparently everything you need, including easy fatalities are unlock able in the krypt for free. I gotta jump on a wiki and find out which ones are what.

Yeah, they are unlockable in the Krypt. I added that into my post with an edit. I was mainly just making an observation about it, thought it was kind of a funny thing to sell. Especially since the fatalities really aren't that complex anymore, at least IX's and MK vs DC were both super easy to pull off.

Yeah.. I'll still grab the easy fatalities simply because I wanted them so bad when I was in high school during the MKII/III days.

so how many main fatalities does each character have?

is it 2?

jealous of all you guys getting to play already!!

I picked the game up during my lunch break and messed with it for a small bit. My god the visuals in this game look amazing. Its the first thing one notices and its by far the best fighter on the market. It looks that damn good and a major improvement over the last game. Thank god NRS werent simultaneously developing a last gen version bc had that been the case, I dont think we would have gotten this beauty.

With the PS4, you can jump into the game as soon as you pop in the disc but only 5 or 6 characters were available. After the first match, all were selectable so the install is pretty fast. I think it worked on the stages after that and all were there by 2 or 3 matches.

Ive only played all styles of Sub Zero and so far it doesnt seem as if there is as much variation as initially led to beleive. You gain 2-3 different special moves but they didnt seem like a game changer. I really wish they had just gone with one style and incorporated those specials into one instead of spreading them out.

The X-rays are brutal. I also love the pre-fight banter. Off the top of my head, Sonya and Cassie's was pretty funny. Cassie made a comment about how "we shouldnt be doing this". i like how the relationships are alluded to. Cant wait to dig deeper.

Well, here's a bit of shady dealings. There is a Krypt code for $20 that I assume unlocks all the Krypt content, and the day one patch that was released apparently slowed down the rate in which you gain koins.

I dont really have much of a problem with that. I can see why some might but there is so much content in this game, that I will prefer to continuously be rewarded for it. It could be that before patch you were given too many koins and one could easily burn through them rather quickly.

I heard the koin nerf patch is a misconception, when you play story mode the first time you get a lot of koins, but playing it again doesnt give you nearly as many koins, I've heard from various sources this is the same with and without the patch...but who knows

im surprised with all the "micro" transactions in MKX...they are making it seem like a mobile game lol

Nah, this isn't that, since that's how it worked in IX as well. They are explicitly saying that you gain less Koins in the game in general from playing the game from all activities after the patch. Though, I don't know 100% how they determined it, but I think a few other places are reporting it so it's probably legit.

Possibly, but I'd be more inclined to believe that if they wasn't a digital code selling that content. I think it's pretty obviously something that was done to sell those codes to those who are less patient. Of course, in the end, it's their choice to do so. I wouldn't get it myself.

I actually might get the stuff that unlocks everything. Idk yet. I play MK to beat up other ppl. I have no intrest grinding to unlock stuff. Just wanna get the costumes I want and start beating on folks.

Any guides to the krpt yet? I want the Scorpion and Subs alts so bad

but you can unlock everything by playing the game, right?

I'd only get that Unlock Everything DLC if it came packaged with a Season Pass or something.

Yeah, you can unlock everything in the Krypt without the code, I think. Only thing I'm not sure about is the Easy Fatalities. I know they're in the Krypt as well, but they are also selling them separately, so I don't know how that works.

There's also a random $2 Sub-Zero costume that's not part of the season pass, and I don't know if it's in the Krypt or not.

ah, thanks.

also, for those who've played it, do you have to unlock a fatality before you can use it?
