The guy has be churning them out left right and centre(I heard something about him being in debt so maybe that’s why) but which one is the absolute worst? Also does anyone know how much he makes a movie?

It's strange because he's been in some really good films... Moonstruck, The Weather Man, Raising Arizona, Bringing Out the Dead, and Leaving Las Vegas to name the ones off the top of my head.

I'd say his recent turdsandwiches include Ghost Rider, and both of the National Treasure movies (barf)

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

I didn't watch this but his performance looks really hammy.
Bangkok Dangerous
This was just a bad remake that shouldn't of happened. I'm a little biased towards the original , which isn't that good , so the remake shouldn't of bothered me but it did.
Ghost Rider
The direction he took Blaze didn't work for me (or much anyone else).
The Wicker Man
This has to be his worst. I feel bad if there is a film out there with him in it that's worse .

I've enjoyed most of his other films though. I think even at his worst he still can provide entertainment.

Adaptation
World Trade Center
The Weather Man
Lord of War
Kick Ass
8MM
The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans
Face/Off
Con Air
The Rock
Leaving Las Vegas

The Wicker Man has to be one of the most unintentionally hilarious movies ever made.

Highlights:
-Cage front kicking Leelee Sobieski into a wall
-Cage punching a woman while in a bear suit
-Cage ripping masks off of kids and stealing a bike
-Cage screaming "not the bee's!"

I know he makes a lot of crappy movies, but I will always have a lot of respect for Cage. He thinks outside the box. Just look at his role in Kick-Ass, only an insane genius like Cage could come up with that way of playing it.
And ofcourse, he's just staggeringly brilliant in The Bad Lieutenant. I can never hate Cage because of that performance. Plus his great performances in a number of other movies, most of them were already mentioned in this thread. And, say what you want, but the guy is something of an icon for everything crazy, not a lot of people can say that. :p

I normally enjoys his movies, for the most part....
(with the understanding that they are what they are....)

tho, I did recently watch "knowing"

which even for the Nicolas Cage movie, was a little out there for my taste...

The Wickerman is not only one of the worst Nic Cage movies... it's one of the worst movies. Peroid.

I had intentionally pushed memories of this film out of my head, but gotta admit that those did make me laugh!

Vampire's Kiss for me. That movie messed me up when I was a kid. It is happy go lucky until the end. Then sh** got real. Did not like the realistic ending at all. It was really jarring.

Doesn't a movie being "the worst Nicolas Cage movie" also make it "the best Nicolas Cage movie"? The only bad performances Nic Cage has done are the ones that are boringly mediocre. I either want to see him doing legitimately great acting or pouring on the ham and cheese, because at either end of the spectrum I know I'm going to be entertained.

If you watched that video, you were entertaned by Nicolas Cage. The Wickerman isn't his worst movie, because it's so bad it's good. The bad ones are the ones where it's just so bland that you lose interest. Sorcerer's Apprentice and Bangkok Dangerous seem to be put into that criteria pretty often by people who have seen them.

Thing is, while I laughed the entire way through that clip, it still pisses me off that they were allowed to ruin that movie like that. They took an absolute cult classic, and turned it into a sexist (even changing the sex of Lord Summerisle, because of course a man can't run a wiccan cult), ridiculous, and Nic Cage cheese fest of the most horrendous non acting i've ever seen. Especially the bees bit...

No matter how bad the movie is - we can all agree on I hope that Cage dives head first into his part :D

I love Cage. The most misunderstood actor working today. What I love about him, and he clearly shows it -- is that he truly loves what he does and doesn't care about the quality of it. He puts his effort in and has as much fun as possible. He's like a kid. Sure he makes lesser movies, but it's still a joy to watch the guy. At least he's good at being bad.

The National Treasure films are immense guilty pleasures for me. I enjoy the hell out of them. I love history and adventure and Cage so when you get those three things, I'm gonna end up liking it.

And Ghost Rider is another guilty pleasure. Yeah, there's things that are wrong with it, alot. But Cage is enjoyable to watch. ****ing jelly beans out of a martini glass man. Only Cage.

Worst performance is probably a toss up between Next, The Wicker Man, Bangcock Dangerous, Ghost Rider or Face/Off. And I haven't even seen three of those, but I've seen clips and his hamminess is legendary.

But I can rank his best performances (as they're so few):

1. Adaptation
2. Raising Arizona
3. Leaving Las Vegas
4. Bad Lt: Port of Call New Orleans
5. Matchstick Men

Special mentions go to Kick-Ass, Vampire's Kiss and Con Air for their sheer silliness and fun.

The only bad thing about Nic Cage are the movies he chooses. Raising Arizona is one of my favorite movies and I loved Bad Lieutenant though.

Bangkok Dangerous is boring as all hell. However, National Treasure is also a guilty pleasure of mine. F***in awesome.

He's also very good in Peggy Sue Got Married.

Nic Cage mostly makes solid, average movies. Some are great, some are stinkers, but most are good, but nothing really spectacular.

I like both of these films and not even as guilty pleasures. They're not great, but their still fun films.

Same here. It's a bad movie, but I still get some enjoyment out of it.

I've always liked him quite a bit in Moonstruck. That list is dead on though.

I never heard of that one , sounds interesting actually.
