Right, first off, i have left out Galactus because we havent really 'seen' him exactly have we, its obvious to me he was in the cloud not the cloud itself. So i have narrowed it down the one's i think would be considered to most powerful by people in general.

Silver Surfer: Even though we never saw the full range of his powers, he still showcased enough to show his screen counterpart is pretty damn powerful. His most powerful moment was obviously getting rid of Galactus.

The Pheonix: Again, different from the comic counterpart but still pretty damn powerful. I have major issues with the way she was dispatched, but she still showed some pretty crazy power levels, decimating a whole Island and more before she was stopped and who knows what would have happened if she wasnt stopped.

The Hulk: No matter what was thrown at him, it didnt stop him, both the US army and his mutated father, who was pretty powerful himself, came up short against him, and he was pretty much unstoppable.

So these are the choices people, vote for who you think is the most powerful, also if it helps, imagine it as a royal rumble type battle.

I'm gonna say Phoenix. She has the ability to rip matter apart in its tiniest form and has the control and power to destroy an entire island.

Plus, we have to take into consideration that Jean was fighting the Phoenix throughout the entire film. Had Phoenix taken complete control, there's no telling what she was capable of.

^Your kidding arent you? The Thing would be ripped apart by not only these 3, but probably the likes of Ghost Rider and Blackheart as well.

Galactus...You eat a planet, you're pretty much the most powerful creature there is.

But if we're talking just characters then Silver Surfer because...well...Did he even show fatigue or any sign of slowing down while on his board? I'd think if you ran at him he'd just let you get absorbed and keep flying. Not to mention Pheonix's little disintigration ability is second nature to him. He claps and an army goes flying.

That would bethe Surfer. If you mean the most powerful display of power that would be a toss up between the Hulk and Phoenix. But the most powerful we have seen is the Surfer.

Hulk really didn't do anything impressive. heck the Thing lifting the London Eye was more impressive than anything the Hulk did

What people tend to forget about that scene is that Sue was holding a lot of the weight of the Eye at the same time with her forcefield. So the whole weight of the thing wasnt on.....er......The Thing's shoulders.

Hulk taking out army tanks and helicopters like they were nothing, not to mention surviving a fall from the edge of earth's atmosphere with NO ill effects are 3 things........er....The Thing wouldnt be able to achieve.

pheonix can't deal with self healing people so the hulk could quite easily take her out in a confrontation.

As for the silver surfer, the pheonix could easily take her out as she could demolecularise his board and thus relieve him of any sort of power source.

as for the hulk, the surfer could do some real damage but them too fighting would be a waste of time.

I have to say all three would probably go down easily to mephisto and probably also the ghost rider (especially surfer and pheonix) to a solid pennace stare...

Galactus was bigger than Earth, yet the SS disposed of him, wrecking a small island doesnt compare IMO.

See my response above, IMO nothing compare to the Surfer getting rid of Galactus.

If he couldnt take out Blackheart or GR how is he? If he could get anyone to hell, he obviously would be, but on Earth his power isnt that great.

Could The Pheonix really demolecurise the Surfers board though, would he not be able to do something to counter that? He wouldnt just sit there.

And as you said i think Hulk could take out The Pheonix. Then it would be down to Hulk and The Silver Surfer and i would put my money on The Surfer.

I did consider putting GR in there, but in all instances, i doubt's whether he would get close enough to any of them to use The Penance Stare.

You do know that the Surfer can do the same thing right? And with much more ease at that. That's what a blast from him did to Dr. Doom anyway. I just got the impression that he didn't really want to kill him (Surfer didn't come off as a killer throughout the movie or lord knows it would have been such a short movie. And who says The Pheonix can even handle demolecularizing a cosmic being? The guy had the power to absorb a being even larger than the earth and transport him elsewhere.
This would be a good short battle. The Surfer would probably just charge at him and push him into the earth's core or something. Or you know...do the same thing that he did to Galactus.

Now what did Mephisto do that showed he could put up a good fight with these guys? I'm honestly curious.

Ghost Rider is at least Hulk level strength and that's when he's not even trying. I mean when he pulled that helicopter in close he said it was pissing him off. That's power right there. Hulk vs. Ghost Rider would be an excersize in futility since it would just be a draw but I honestly think that the Surfer could take em both out.

Mephisto created the ghost rider who could kick all their asses...

plus, he's mephisto, no feat of strength is really needed.

If we go on actual feats within the movie, than the 'most powerful' is xavier helped by cerebro where he nearly kills 6 billion people with a single thought.

But mephisto gets it for just being mesphisto. His near OMnipitence is somewhat implied

Can the Penance Stare really work on someone like The Surfer who (in my opinion) didn't really kill all of those people? Sure he guided Galactus but I don't think the penance stare works on someone who just led killers instead of killed.

Remember that the Ghost Rider has to actually get close to use his penance stare and without his motorcycle, he really cannot compete with these two in the speed department. Hell, I think even The Pheonix would simply smack him away with her thoughts (everyone's forgetting she has telekinesis).

And yes we do have to go by feats because we really can't go around taking people's word for it.:oldrazz:

Professor X probably can't do anything to the Surfer by the way. That guy had trouble with Pheonix when he was right in front of her so I think it's established that she's more powerful than him and she's less powerful than Surfer. See the Silver Surfer has actually EXHIBITED power beyond our imagination and that's what I'm talking about. The only time he showed even remote strain was when he was hit with the net and when he was fighting Galactus.

i say Silver Surfer. Unlike the Hulk and the Pheonix, The Surfer is in complete control over his power levels.

I dont think what the Surfer and Galactus does could be considered sinful. Doesnt Galactus need planets for nourishment? Its like someone hunting for food.

Ah, you are aware that a U.S. tank (like the one thrown in Hulk) can weigh up to 80 tons. How many hundred yards did he throw that thing? The Thing had to push to the max, with the aid of Sue, to put the London eye back in place. You do the math...

I would say Galactus or the Surfer. Phoenix is powerful, but they never really explored the extent of that power beyond turning people into piles of dust.

Xavier. Not only was he the most powerful mutant on Earth in "X2" but he cheated death and transfered his mind into another body in "X3."

Plus he did all this in the confines of a damn chair!

But got beaten by SS :oldrazz: I would say Jean Grey aka Phoenix, didn't even show her full powers before she had the chance so she might be even a match against SS
