The Amazing Spider-Man Mover over Raimi! Time for Jim Cameron to take on Spidey!

Cameron is not going to be available for Spider-man

Don't waste Cameron's time with this. He's got a sequel to Avatar to do.

Spidey a waste of time ?

I hope that Cameron will leave the Avatar futur project, this movie was really a pure crap.

He's not going to leave his pet project for Spider-Man just because you like Spider-Man more then his pet project.

Cameron waited like 10 years for Avatar. He put his career basically on hold so that film could be created as he envisioned it. He already has plans for the sequel.

It's going to take a lot to make Cameron leave that, and I don't think Spider-Man is going to be enough. Cameron is more likely interested in his own personal creation over adapting another work, regardless of what it is.

I know, just playing devil's advocate. also I saw a recently interview and its obvious he still loves the character but I guess that's as a fan now rather than as a film maker.

not good ones imo:awesome:

erm, no he doesn't

Matter of opinion I guess.

I loved 300 and loved Watchmen.

No one else could've done 300 justice as Snyder did.

And no one could've done Watchmen justice either. Sure, it's a long movie, and people get lost when it gets passed the 2 hour mark, but still. It IS an amazing movie. And I prefer the ending of the film with regards to Ozymandias destroying the cities.

I say Fincher, Matthew Vaughn, or Neil Blomkopf.

James Cameron's storyboards and idea would've been disastrous. Edgy yes, but disastrous.

And oh yeah... "Avatar" is strikingly beautiful but an overrated, overhyped movie and yes... Cameron completely copied Pocahantas and "Dances With Wolves."

James Cameron is NOT gonna do Spider-Man especially in his career right now.

Yes, Fincher is my ideal director for the reboot.

Second is Snyder.

Third is Blomkamp.

And NinjaTurtleFan, thank you. For the longest I thought I was the only one that didn't like the movie. Everyone seems to be engulfed by the effects and didn't even realize that the story is a carbon-copy.

so what about the people who have never seen the movies that cameron borrowed from?

anyway this is a cameron spidey thread

Fincher could make it good but still, I can't see him doing it.

Look at Raimi: He made 3 Spider-Man movies in a row.

As a director, I'm sure they would like to pull a Christoper Nolan, and direct a Batman film every other movie so he can do his own thing.

I can't see established guys like Fincher doing Spider-Man and then kinda strip away their artistic merit for a HUGE franchise like this.

Eric Cartman summed up Avatar years before the film came out with the following quote: "Dolphins, eskimos, who cares? It's all a bunch of tree hugging hippie crap!"

Keep Cameron light years away from the Spidey reboot.

Didn't Cameron write a Spiderman script in the 90s having it be like a Rated R movie?

And Zack Snyder does know how to make super hero films. Watchmen was simply awesome!

Watchmen was meh. Snyder honored it in certain ways, but didn't understand it in others. The ending was horrible, and not cause they took out the squid. That's whatever. But, they changed the dynamic of the work by slanting an opinion on Ozy's plan. In the GN, Nite Owl didn't beat up Ozy and call his new world a distorted version of humanity. He stood by and let it happen without much protest. It was AMBIGUOUS. Snyder forced his opinion on me.

Thus, clearly didn't get Watchmen. Watchmen is supposed to make you think, not tell you how to feel.

Be careful. Watchmen looks like Watchmen thus it must be Watchmen.

And Robert Rodriguez could've done 300 just as well as Snyder did.

Agreed.

Just because Snyder wrote scenes from the GN word for word doesn't mean he got the story right. I would have prefered he made some bigger changes and gotten the point of the story right, than to do the GN mostly word for word but change the essential point of the GN in the process.

Well imo that was the flaw in Watchmen, it was so word for word and scene for scene that it was easier to pick out the inherent flaws. Watchmen works much better as a book than a movie.
