Movie Cliches That You Like

Badass characters in action movies and westerns who speak primarily in clever quips.

I like it when the villain is an ex-friend/partner/relative of the main character.

So the villain is always addressing the hero as "old friend" or "brother".

megan fox...

lol.. but she's dwindling for me now
Are they releasing a doll of her sometime soon? 'Cause about 50% of what I hear about 'Transformers 2' all has to do with Megan Fox. Damn, man. She mind as well'd be a ----in' prop.

Did you see the Transformer 2 trailer? If ever there was a glorified prop, it's her.

Haha, well... I was trying to wheel my way into saying that completely... But I changed my mind last minute:oldrazz:

Anyhow, yet another favourite of mine would have to be the: "Romanic Comedy" cliche. Why is this? Mainly this is because if I see one that I like with characters that I like, at least you know that they're going to end up living happily ever after, you know? '40 Year-Old Virgin' is the prime-example, for me personally.

One that immeadiately comes to mind is the classic "good guy makes entrance by crashing through the window" routine. I love that.

X-men Origins: Wolverine did had a lot of cliches. :hehe:

...Holy ----... Sorry to say, but nice job spoiling this thread, mate:o

Inner monologues. Most of the time anyways. To show a deeper point of view of the character, hero or villain. It draws me into their world.

Examples:

  • Casino
  • Sin City
  • Daredevil
  • ect.

I like that too.:yay:
One cliché Ive always loved is the "convert you to good" moment/speech. Picard was notorious for this.Sometimes it worked sometimes not.He tried it in Generations,no dice. Insurrection it worked, Nemesis, no dice.
But I always dig it.

I don't know if this is a cliche that I love or hate, but when person in a movie says:
" come on nuthin's gonna happen" then something happens.
"What could possibly go wrong" then something goes wrong.
"Ive got a bad feeling about this" and something bad happens :)

Or someone gives a impelling speech only to be killed right after or during it.
I too am a sucker for fights in the rain as well.

i tend to agree with you on that one, although i love in hellboy one whene hes like how big can it be? and then he gets grabbed by the squid, i don't know i always loved that ever since i first saw the trailer durring superbowl 04
