Movie Director Battle Tournament.

I decided to do another tournament to be frank i got board and wanted to try this tournament. This is mor emy style really then a Character tournament. To be honest i like dabbling with actors, and directors stuff in threads and ofcourse my movie battle one.
In this Battle tournament its like my others. Except for the fact this one is souly dealing with directors.
We will start with 32 battles in round one and go down wards until we have a number one best director in movies.
This likely will be my easiest tournement for me next to the movie one. I gladly take any imput on my tournaments.
I will likely update this one every 3 days not as often as my movie one for its really hard doing 3 tournaments.
I will try my very best as always.

Spielberg is the uneducated answer.

And while his films are quite impressive, I disapprove of the fact that other talent is overshadowed by the weight of his work. I mean, you ask the John Q Public for the best director, and the general consensus is "Spielberg." While that's partially true, I always feel better being on the opposing end and pointing out the numerous directors that deserve just as much praise.

The Duelist, Kingdom of Heaven, and most importantly Blade Runner and Alien make Scott a heavy hitter to me.

I truly respect the 80's Ridley Scott.

But he just can't compare to Spielberg.

Spielberg hasn't made a really good movie in a long time. But Ridley has had some misses himself.


I'm gonna have to go with Spielberg though.

I'm pissed that these two had to go at it the first round! Ridley Scott makes some damn great films but im going with Spielberg. Can't help it, I grew up with ET, Raiders, Close Encounters, and many others.

Spielberg at present is poor. As is Scott. At Spielberg's peak, we were honoured with Jaws and Duel. Scott gave us Alien and blade runner.

If we take their worst effort, Spielberg has directed turkeys like WOTW and munich.

And Scott resorted to Hannibal.

Overall Spielberg has made more good films, but more bad films also. As a ratio, Spielberg probably just takes this one.



Anyway, I'm curious to see who else is in this tourney, Fellini?
