Please not all action film directors... The following definately should be on here:

Federico Fellini, Goddard, Akira Kurosawa, Noah Baumbauch, Wes Anderson, P.T. Anderson, Terry Gilliam, David Cronenberg, Sergio Leone, David Lynch, and Martin Scorcese to name a few...

Don't forget Francis Ford Coppola, Mary Harron, Paul Verhoeven, David Fincher and John Carpenter...among several others.

CFE

P.S. James Cameron

All excellent... Yeah there are quite a few, I just name some off the top of my head... Christ Ic an't believe I forgot the classics... John Huston, Howard Hawks, Orson Welles, Billy Wilder, John Ford, Mervyn LeRoy, Elias Kazan, and Joseph L. Mankiewicz... Again to name a few...

z0mg I can't believe I forgot Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick... I could go on all night with directors I absolutely love. Can't forget Charlie Chaplin either, he did marvelous work in the silent era or Fritz Lang!

Yeah, me to. The list is very nearly endless.

Going off comic films, Alex Proyas, Richard Donner, Tim Burton, Sam Raimi, Guillermo Del Toro

Also adding to the list of legendary directors, Akira Kurosawa (Seven Samurai), Orson Welles (Citizen Kane), William Wyler (Ben Hur) and David Lean (Bridge on the River Kwai.)

52 is a lot. especially 52 significant enough to put in a tournament.

I could probably name about 100 off the top of my head worthwhile.

Depends what you're into I guess, some people could name 100 indie bands.

Cameron...nough said

George Lucas gave us Star Wars, American Graffiti, and Indiana Jones

James Cameron gave us Terminator, Aliens, True Lives, and Titanic

Big fan of both, and despite the bad PT, I'm going to have to give it to George Lucas. And if it weren't for him, Cameron wouldn't even be a director. ;)

Round One Battle 3.

Michael Bay.

Roland Emmerich.

Emmerich

Though Tranformers rocked, all Bay's other movies sucked

Bloody... Please tell me your going be doing good directors... Not that I don't love Michael Bay but Emerich doesn't even deserve a spot in any type of Movie Director Tournament....

Michael Bay

Bay, Emmerich is a terrible director, Bay is not very good to be honest, but Emmerich is an abomination

The fact that you left off Kubrick and Hitchcock means this tournament should probably be thrown out and re-done.

As long as they put Boll against another real crappy director. If not Boll won't get a single vote

Michael Bay.

Is Uwe Boll going to be in the tournament?
No Uwe Boll in this tournament i happen to like action Movie directors.
I am not throwing out my tournament because you don't like one director in it.
Relax its only Battle 3.

It's cool if you like action movie directors however why don't you be balanced about it... Like think? Maybe I Should pair the action director the 80s and 90s against the current one... John McTeirnan vs. Michael Bay... Like actually good directors...

I was thinking he put Ronald Emmerich up there for a kick:oldrazz:

This is a good match...they are similar directors.

Fellini should really in this though.

Of course Fellni roxors my boxors... But so should Bergman, Goddard, Kurosawa, and Truffaut... Hopefully this isn't all action movie directors like Bryan Singer should not be in this... Sam Raimi possibly due to the diversity of his work and the Evil Dead series but even then...

Well we could always do an overall directors one afterwards, with people like Kim Ki Duk, Park Chan Wook, kar wai won etc etc
